happened in the first 5 minutes, it was all downhill from there. William Fichtner is a great actor.

William Fichtner as a shellshocked veteran

I always thought the ending was the best scene.

The attack is a great dolby 5.1 demo with bullet and plane flybys.

There are a few brief moments in the movie that capture the experience of the attack.

I've always thought this movie was terrible without ever watching it. I remember thinking the trailers looked awful, didn't like some of the actors in it at the time, it got bad reviews, I didn't want to sit through 3 hours of it, etc. So I never watched it.

I do, however, own it on DVD. The only reason is because back in the day when I bought Con-Air on DVD, I could buy Con-Air for $19.99 or Con-Air and Pearl Harbor for $19.99. So even knowing how bad it was and that I didn't want to see it, I got it for (basically) free in my mind.

So, honest question: Is it worth watching, like at all? I always wondered if maybe the attack scenes were done well. But my stepdaughter loves it and has asked me to watch it before, and I just never wanted to. But is it as bad as it is in my mind, or are there some redeeming qualities to it and make it not so bad? I wouldn't mind giving it a shot one day, I just feel like I will be bored out of my mind and hate it.

The credits, because it meant the movie was over.

I'll watch anything, so I'm not the person to ask.

However, I gave up on the movie as soon as I saw the Enterprise, the nuclear powered one, being used as a Japanese carrier.

My uncle was an extra in the movie. Only reason we watched it. You can see him standing when the guys are playing craps or cards on the deck during the raid

Movie is way too long and the tone is way off

The battle scene is pretty great but the symbolism and the love story is cringe worthy. There’s a lot of sappy fluff and “epic camera spin shots”

You should see it one time but have your cell phone with you so you can distract yourself during the boring parts

That's basically what I've always heard, that the love story angle is WAY too much and takes away from the movie a lot.

I don't like doing that, but this may be the best strategy though with a movie like this.

Another question: If I choose to just skip straight to the attack scenes and watch it from there, will I miss much or not know what's going on?
