chappelle is probably one of the only people to get me to watch snl but this was pretty bad. if anyone thought this show overall was good, that just goes to show how bad this show has fallen.

SNL has been absolute and complete utter dogshit for years now. They have a few gems here and there, usually when McKinnon or Keenan are playing a recurring character, but overall it's borderline unwatchable. I keep watching out of a misplaced sense of masochism.

I was just happy to watch Chapelle. Even in shitty sketches, it was just funny to watch the guy act in sketch comedy again.

That was the first time I've watched in years. Dave was rusty but good despite pretty weak material. But that cast is fricking awful. I meet funnier random strangers every day of my life.

Gotcha. Sucks because that show was gold back in the day.

I dont know if Chappelle is just going through the motions with this show but he is way too funny for that shite they brought out there tonight.

At the end he thanked Lorne Michaels for helping him check something off his bucket list.

I think he just wanted one more day in the life of a sketch comedian

Dave was great but everything else was lame.

The opening with McKinnon was fricking awful. That's what you start the show with? fricking booooo

You had two good sketches and a great joke about the minority senators by Colin Jost and that's it.

It was a solid episode and will probably go down as one of the best of the season. El. Oh. El. at those whose jimmies were rustled tonight.

thats the sad part.

you have arguably one of the goat comedians/sketch comedy guys on there and it was pretty bad. the last sketch was going great and it quickly went to garbage. Pretty much sums up the history of this show

as people get older, they not only have different senses of humor but also look back more fondly on things than they actually were. it's pretty easy to catch a few old 70s, 80s SNL sketches and say oh it was so great but in reality they had great sketches and bad ones just like they do now. the highs now may not be quite as high or as frequent back then but the lows are just as low.

just IMO. i haven't seen this episode yet. friend went to the afterparty, though. tribe called quest covered Creep.

Very good point. They came out with DVDs of full episodes from the first 5 seasons several years ago. They had plenty of duds mixed in there with the classic sketches we all remember.

This board is becoming insufferable when McKinnon can sing Cohen and say I'm not going to give up and neither should you in the Hilary character without people screaming bloody murder.

Not to mention Chapelle killed the monologue and people are shitting on that too.

Bunch of Ragelicans in here. You won. Stop acting like a bunch of babies when people don't lick Trump's... shoes. Our next president threw such a fit over Obama winning that he demanded birth certificates over media.

That was a tasteful way to start the show from Kate and Dave and the amount of down votes in here is downright baffling.

I thought the show was excellent and it was obvious Dave wrote a bunch of the content

The LJ/mooney video was a slow cook but Dave put an exclamation point on it with his line at the end

I don't care for the gross out skits but they did make me laugh

That's what I said.

For the first time in years the skits had a coherent beginning and ending, a condensed plot, comedy, and they hit all topics of all sides.

Chappelle is tGOAT
