Decades ago Roger Ebert gave Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid a thumbs down. I think I remember his saying in later years that he really regretted that one.

I love that movie, Newman and Redford....."who are those guys?"
My Mom said after years of watching westerns with my Dad she finally saw one she really liked a lot, haha.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey) is 49% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes

Friend,
The greatest romance movie ever made, A Walk To Remember. It has a 27% approval rating from critics. Few people believe me when I tell them this but I watched it with Nick Saban when he was the coach for the LSU football team.

Half of the critics liked that version? I thought that movie was a shmashmortion when I saw it in theaters as a kid. I went in primed to love it.
I'm not going to comb through old scores to find the best example possible for this prompt, but I know Babylon has a "rotten" score, and that was among my favorite movies of 2022

Lost River (directed by Ryan Gosling) wasn't very well received but I've always thought it was awesome
