Shawshank could be considered somewhat "twisty"?

No. You knew he was going to get out of jail and that the warden would of pay for his crimes. Not a twist really at all.

Amazing how many greatest twists of all time are from the 90’s. Must have watched a lot of film that decade. What year were you born?

I'm a 90's kid. So yes I have bias for it. My favorite decade of movies for sure though. Older films the poor quality kind of turns me away. I like dark thrillers with twist and the 90's had a shite ton of them that fit that specific bill.Born in 86

Frailty would get my vote too. I enjoyed that movie up to the end, and then the end twist just blew me away.

I don’t know if it’s the “best” but The Game” with Penn and Douglas was pretty good.

Also Double Jeopardy with Tommie Lee and crazy woman.

The Last American Virgin

(I'm sorry but that's a twist for Hollywood)

Spoilers, I guess.

You fully expect the good guy to get the girl; not the a-hole "cool guy" who just used her for sex and then dumped her after she got pregnant. She even cries on the nice guy's shoulders...so the realistic ending was actually a shock for Hollywood.

Ending

Jacob’s Ladder and Angel Heart are pretty twisty.

This ending really left me dissatisfied, though I believe that was intentional. I really wanted Gerard Butler to somehow win and redeem himself.

As a previous poster listed, Saw and then there are the rest in my opinion. Absolutely WTF in the last 5 minutes of that movie.

It's got to be this. No one saw it coming. Even the other cast members didn't know about the twist.

It was in the book. Which came out a month before the movie.

Some dickwad was reading it ahead of me in this massive line (1 screen theater that fit like 1,000 people) and told me that Vadar was Luke's father. We had been waiting in line for an hour.
