Battlestar Galactica the “new series”. What order should we watch it in?

The one big Sci-Fi show I haven’t seen. Myself and the wife are starting it tonight. Do we start with the mini series or jump into season 1? We need something to binge.

Mini series first, then the season series. I went to Wiki because there are a couple of movies that happen in between seasons. I just started a rewatch last week.

Google it…the AI will tell you when to pause watching episodes and stop and slot in razor and the plan (the two TV movies)
I watched the miniseries the other night I might jump in and join you on a rewatch if I can talk my wife into it

Enjoy the ride. It's a fantastic series. They were forced to rush the final season due to cancellation, but it's still a good sendoff and ending. I know it's controversial, but I liked how they wrapped everything up given the unfortunate circumstances.

Mini series then season 1. If you are watching on DVD or Blu, the miniseries will be the first eps of season 1.

NO, It's a shite ending. They went the same route as Lost. Every episode promises to answer the mysterious questions. Then they answer the question with more questions that lead to MORE questions. Plot holes abound and plot points just disappear.
I love that show. But frick those writers. The ending was shite.
But I will always have the Adama Maneuver.

love this exchange
Adama: "What do you hear, Starbuck?"
Starbuck: "Nothing but the rain, sir."
Adama: "Then grab your gun and bring in the cat."
Starbuck: "Boom, boom, boom!

Gives me chills even now.

Seconded.
I probably would have been fine with ending it at the midpoint of season 4 when a few shocking events happen given how halfassed the final ending was.

that scene with Galactica coming up from the supply base and screening the fleet so they could escape was so fricking well done.
Chief was one of my fav characters - Boomer was so fricking hot on that show.

Pegasus to the rescue is also epic.
The pan out as the drums build and the can of whoopass is unleashed....
I'm getting pissed off all over again at how the writers didn't do the show justice with a good ending. DAMMIT!

What about Blood and Chrome? You could watch that first then the mini series and the rest maybe?

I think "33" is my favorite episode. Yes, it's at the very beginning of the series but it does an amazing job of conveying the stress of that early, constant onslaught and the immediacy in which their decisions had to happen.

Don't mean to derail the thread, but is the original series streaming anywhere? I'm at that age where I'm nostalgic for some of the shows I watched as a kid (Knight Rider, A-Team, Galactica, Fall Guy) and haven't really been able to find many of them.

quote:it is. They completely made irrelevant all of the character development they’d done for 4 seasons and every bit of the mysteries they’d promised to solve. The deus ex machina ending was possibly the most disappointing ending to a great show ever. The sad thing is that up until the last few minutes of the last episode they could have made one small tweak of dialogue and everything would have fell into place. Oh well
NO, It's a shite ending.
