My main issue with GoT doesnt necessarily have anything to do with the events that transpired (aside from choosing a near immortal to be king), but the rushed pace of those events once they got past the books. Specifically the final season, but there were some similar issues with the one prior.

Dany and her dragon making a journey north of the wall in like 15 minutes when it’s well established the journey takes months on foot.

Dany’s personality flipping from benevolent mother to insane tyrant with a civilian blood lust based on one event where her friend is killed by the people she’s been fighting the whole time anyway.

Why she’s burns all the innocent people, who Cersei couldn’t care less about, while not going straight for the castle still boggles my mind. I’m all for her going mad queen, but not on a dime.

There are others, but those stick out

Yeah, frick them for being so ready to be done with it and instead of letting someone else take charge just rushing it half-assed

Mainly because she beat the Hound and held her own against Jaime, who was considered as one of the best so I think we can lump her into that.

The OP does a weekly game of thrones thread and he did a best game of thrones swordsmen type thread a while back. Listed like 10 of the best but no Brienne. He's got issues with women being good at anything for sure.

Brienne's best argument is that she beat the Knight of Flowers fair and square. Jamie, no hand, sure. The Hound was sick but that was still incredibly impressive. But it was an even match with Loras and he is widely regarded as one of the bet. Hell, GRRM even said the two he'd want on his kings guard would be a healthy Jamie and Brienne.

most of the people running things everywhere in the 7 kingdoms had no battlefield commander experience

But as a child of noble origin, Snow and his brothers would have been schooled by Roderick in the art of warfare as they may be called upon to lead armies in the service of the king. And Snow did have real world command experience. He fought off the armies of Mance Rayder at the Battle of the Wall in the show’s fourth season.

She's a great knight and would do well in kingsguard. Just think she isn't on the swordsman level of people like jamie (fully healthy), Arthur day ne, selmy. The hound and mountain would beat her fully healthy and equally armored as well. Oberyn is interesting because of her armor but he prolly works her the same way as the mountain and doesn't lose composure

A lot of people that are better swordsmen than her wouldn't fit in as well with the kingsguard because of their personalities

Did you know they have giants, undead, and dragons?

Completely unrealistic!!!

I’m just saying how I felt. I know most felt it was incredible, but I personally was a bit disappointed after. To each his own.

Important MTV Board safety tip:

Don't point out how dogshit the dogfight and aerial scenes were in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk.

Even if she isn't the greatest warrior, she's well above the average warrior AND is one of, if not the, most honorable person in the entire series.

A person would have to be an idiot... or corrupt... to not want her in the Kingsguard.

So she would have been a terrible one for Joffrey (doubt, even as her role requires, she could turn a blind eye to his terrible actions) but an excellent one for Tommen and potentially would have been a good model and counselor for him.

I for sure don't think she is the best. But she is "one of" the best. In a world full of bad arse fighters, she's up there. I would agree with all the names you mentioned, given how many fighters we know, that isn't many above her. I know the fight versus the Hound isn't lore but her win over him was still huge. That was a badass fight and his wound didn't slow him down THAT much. People act like he was at 50% or something.

The Blood of Ser Duncan the Tall prevailed in the show

I rewatched this episode fairly recently. The ending with Jon and Ramsay is so satisfying haha

Also as bad as Jon was on the battlefield Sansa was equally as bad in the war room.

Jon asked her for advice and all she did was repeat the same unhelpful bs

You do realize that it’s based on a historical battle between the Romans and Carthage. Google the Battle of Cannae.

The battle of cannae didn’t have a magical wall of dead bodies stacked 10+ feet high form out of nowhere.

The Battle of Cannae looks nothing like the Battle of the Bastards.
