Haven't watched in a couple years. Is Tombstone still around?

Tombstone is still around but many of the bots have been specially designed to deal with it.

I believe Tombstone's creator injured his driving hand, so he's out this year.

Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I swear when I used to watch it years ago a lot of bots would be eliminated because they'd be flipped over and couldn't get back up. The fact that every bot has some way to get itself upright now makes me think that memory was real.

I remember I got some knock-off battle bots computer game in a cereal box once. It was awesome.

I was in film school in SF and that was the first show I worked on in SF. I was a lowly PA but I got to drive the talent around including Gary Coleman and Carmen Electra

I am waiting for the Battlebots/Running Man mashup when a person goes in the battle arena to face a bot.

Was irritated a little because I signed up to be notified when they were taping, and nada. I was frikkin' in Las Vegas when they taped. I would have been there, holding up a sign with the other nerds... my kids have designed their own bots that they want to build.

Three or four seasons ago they had features showing the bots being tested out of the box and we got to know more about the makers.
That (IMO) was a step up from the bimbo du jour. We didn't get the bimbo back, but we lost the insight of the behind the scenes.

ITA fast forward is my friend.

Biohazard and Vlad the impaler were the Goats of the original series with sean salsbury. Half of the bots on that version were just for looks rather than actual destruction, like the giant knife blade.

now days biohazard would get smoked by a horizontal spinner, and most of them are able to drive upside down so flipping them over does no good.

Still my favorite moment is when the robot with the rake attachment swatted a drone out of the air.

My mother-in-law who is her late 70s is absolutely addicted to this show. I watch it from time to time, but its always cracked me up that my MIL loves it.
