Most certainly.

I don't know why y'all are so sure of this. Only five superhero movies have done it in the modern era.

2 were Avengers flicks, 2 were Nolan Batman flicks, and the last was Iron Man 3. Those two Batman movies didn't blow by the billion $$$ numbers BTW. (not saying their performance wasn't impressive, just that they weren't even Iron Man 3 level)

Man of Steel made $668 million worldwide which isn't anything to sneeze at but it's not like the movie earned the kind of goodwill Batman Begins did leading into The Dark Knight.

With the reviews being so brutal I wouldn't be shocked to see it make around what MOS did domestically at $291 million. It might make a bit more but I just don't see it having the legs needed to hit $1 billion w/all the negative momentum.

Just got out of an early screening. To say I didn't like Man Of Steel is an understatement, but I thought this movie was pretty good. Affleck was a nice change of pace from Bale's batman, Eisenberg played a really crazy Luthor. I thought it set up pretty well for Justice League. I'd give it an 8/10.....fun popcorn flick to enjoy.

If say interstellar was stupid (plotwise) over dumb. It was well made. Good acting. It had some good ideas but like many of other Nolan projects (and tarontino's as well) fails to congeal into anything much more than a passing glance.

How Warner can get DC so right on tv yet so wrong in film confuses me.

kinda weird that anything less than a billion dollars is considered a flop now

Considering the rumors are that it cost $400 million plus to make it's not surprising that they would want that kind of return.

If this doesn't gross a billion, they would be flat out retarded not to have Bruce Timm head the DC Cinematic Universe.

First, remember Warnwr Brothers is run by Comcast lol.

Warner Brothers really wants the movie universe and tv universe to be separate.

No it isn't.

Warner Brothers is run by Time Warner, which owns AOL, Turner, HBO, etc.

NBC/Universal is owned by Comcast.

The proposed merger was shut down by Congress.

Good facts, but Batman vs. Superman

That's all I got.

I'll add this, if the reviews stay THIS bad and word of mouth suffers, then yeah it won't hit a billion. But I just don't see how that's possible. There's no way it's THIS bad. Right? That would suck immensely. And I kind of like Snyder for what he is I just dislike how he handles Supes.

I just can't think that a movie 3 years in the making, starring popular actors, about two of the most celebrated superheroes of all time won't be successful. There's no way....... Right?

18 months ago I said the DC cinematic universe might not even make it to the Justice League film and I was down voted quite a bit.

I still don't believe that yet, but Sony had no problem pulling the plug on their Spider-Man universe (a franchise that had not hit a bump in the road until the third film and even had a moderately successful reboot) so there is a precedent for these rumors.

The difference is that Warner owns everything DC. They would have to cede their own properties' film rights to another studio.

Marvel Studios still doesn't own:

X-Men
Namor
Fantastic Four

and only partially owns Spider-Man.

That's right. I messed up. I remember Comcast went pretty far to buy them but it was blocked.

So long as Fox keeps churning out good X-Men movies, I'm fine with that. I've always found it very jarring how the X-Men are in the same universe as the rest of Marvel. It just really doesn't make sense to me that they are in the same universe. Why does everyone hate mutants, people who truly can't help having powers, but don't give that much of a damn about mutates, people who often chose to get imbued with powers? Seems like it would go the other way around. I think they should be separate and would clash with every other property that Marvel has, so I'm glad this is in its own little corner for now.

I found Interstellar to be so impressed with itself and it wasn't that good of a movie not to mention SOOOOOO predictable. Within the first 30 minutes I figured out how it would end.

As long as they stop making garbage solo Wolverine movies I agree. Really hope people don't waste their time on those.

I really hope this movie tanks so bad it doesn't. Get Zack Snyders hands off of DC.

BTW, those of you who are thinking Batfleck was perfect in the movie, know this:

His acting is fantastic, the suit looks great, and he definitely kicks arse. He's a balls to the wall Batman.

However, you may be disappointed in.........some things. Just sayin...

So you knew about how the whole time travel thing would play out and his daughter being on her death bed when he returned. And that Michael Caine was lying the whole time, And that to return he would have to leave the spacecraft and end up falling thru a black hole? And that Anne Hathaway would end up being the one to find the suitable planet?

You're a damn genius
