You kidding me? It's Hanz Zimmer, this is the only thing I would have put money down would be great.

I love Zimmer's work unapologetically, so much so that buying the BvS score was automatic. I regret doing so, now, however. It's like he signed off on the score but had no input. The music has no real soul to it at all. 80% of it is just noise for the sake of noise IMO.

I think at this point it might be worth wondering if the half hour longer R rated cut might actually help the story flow issues.

Just so we're clear, you have a problem with, and are glad we have moved on from all of the following:

Dumb and dumber
Kingpin
Something about Mary

MA-rated Monday Night Raw
The Attitude Era
Stone Cold
The Rock
The Undertaker
Kane
DX
Mankind

Seasons 1-5 of South Park

You believe culturally we've moved past all that for the better?

Is that correct?

I somewhat agree with you. When I found out Junkie XL was going to be the composer for this film, I automatically assumed it'd be beyond epic (and it was epic for being very experimental), but it lacked a true theme for Batman. Even the damn Batman Suite had everything to do with Superman's theme.

Not sure how it got to discussing the score, but I GUARANTEE YOU it'll make more sense within the movie and work really well.

I'm saying that Frank Miller is a tone deaf one trick pony.

re: wrestling, you listed the (talented, entertaining) performers/actors, not the creators. A better analogy to Millar would be Vince Russo. The audience would revolt if he started writing the show again. Another tone deaf one trick pony.

the problem is, was and has always been Snyder. although to be fair, the studios, particularly Warner Bros., have no real fricking idea how to make comic book movies.

you're telling me Oscar-winning screenwriter/director came aboard the project, read the script and thought it was so terrible that he forced the studio to bring aboard another Oscar winner to rewrite the script and then once the movie came out, everyone thought the story was a disjointed piece of shite?

no, the story is basically fine, i'm sure. but there's no fricking way that this movie needs to be 2.5 hours long, with a 3 hour long director's cut.

all these people in this thread are bitching about how Marvel movies are kinda/sorta lame, but the thing about Marvel is that basically everything they've done to date has been with B & C level heroes. Prior to Iron Man, no one gave a frick about him or really any of the Avengers. Marvel hasn't made a Spider-Man film, they hit big with Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man and now we have movies with Dr. Strange and Black Panther on the way. WB is somehow making shitty movies about Batman & Superman.

Marvel is winning because they are staying true to their characters, their movies are fun and they've created a universe so expanded and diverse that people feel invested at this point. People will go see Dr. Strange even though they have no idea who he is because they're going to learn more about the bigger picture of the MCU.

WB is fricking this up royally by hitching their wagon to a guy with no fricking vision.

Let me guess, a movie about Batman vs Superman isn't good?

I'm shocked. Lame premise from the beginning, imo

95% of people couldn't name one member of the Avengers before the MCU. Before the MCU, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk & Captain America were all b-list characters for the most part. Cap might be top tier but a lot of people just thought he was a hokey relic. Don't even get started on Black Widow, Hawkeye or now Scarlet Witch or Vision. Yet somehow they always seem cool.

also, another reason Marvel is doing so well is that for as similarly structured as their movies are, they make different genres of superhero films.

Ant-Man was a comedy/heist flick. Guardians was sci-fi. Thor is fantasy. Iron Man is mostly action. Avengers is your team-up epic. Captain America was a period piece, then a political thriller. Even though the movies are all usually pretty similar in their basic plot beats, they aren't the same in style, so they seem fresh and new (for the most part) even when they aren't.

Another problem this retardedly marketed and directed and written movie has is naming.

Batman is naturally distrustful of everyone, including Supes, and Supes is a little overly trusting of the government, so the two clash with each other but form a rocky friendship and alliance that forms and cements the Justice League.

Rather than call this movie simply Dawn of Justice or Justice League or something like that, these dipshits decided to go with Batman v Superman and logically and understandably the general public shite on it out of lack of understanding about either character or the Justice League, the cry baby reactionary director over corrected and the movie became a self fulfilling prophecy.

Throw in Jesse Eisenberg, zombie Zod monster, color drained washed out CGI Snyder Fest, and the marketing team and you get what he have here. A failure to communicate. You see some men you just can't reach, so you get what we have here this weekend, which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
