so there is a theory out there that the Infinity Stones spell out Thanos...it's a bit of a reach, but here we go
T = Tesseract (Space) CA:TFA/Avengers
H = ?
A = Aether (Reality) (TDW)
N = ?
O = Orb (Power) (GotG)
S = Scepter (Mind) (Thor/AoU)

N is probably the "Norn Stone" from Norse Mythology. Thor:Ragnarok would be the movie and it would be the time stone.
No clue what H would be, but it's likely the soul stone in Doctor Strange.

Theories I've seen are N=Neckalce (which Eye of Agamotto) which could be the either or really.
and of course H= "HIM" which could be Adam Warlock(in GotG 2), a key player in the Infinity Saga from the comics, but like I've said earlier, Vision seems to be composite with AW.
Norn isn't a bad guess.

New official synopsis for Civil War released. Plus cast confirmed.
quote:LINK
Set for release in the United States on May 6, 2016, Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, “Community”) from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Solider, Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger). The film returns Chris Evans as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America along with Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.
The film also includes outstanding additional cast, including Chadwick Boseman (42, Get on Up) as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp (“Revenge”) as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds, Bourne Ultimatum) as Baron Helmut Zemo, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt (Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk) as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey).
Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

glad to see they aren't completely abandoning the cast and characters from that movie

would be pretty damn sweet if they went that route.

Should be its own thread.
Man that's too many people. Way Too many.
I pretty much love every bit of casting (Bruhl is going to be awesome s Zemo), but no one is going to get fleshed out outside of Cap. That's disappointing.
Feels like even more major characters than AoU.

I watched the movie yesterday. It was ok...but that may have been the trailers fault. They were definitely selling it as a darker movie in the trailer. I was expecting a bad guys winning type flick. Instead we get a villain that was pretty funny, but really incompetent.
I really thought they handled Scarlet Witch well. I liked the portrayal of Quicksilver's powers better in this movie than X-Men.
Hawkeye and Black Widow continue to look ridiculous in these battles. What kind of robots is Ultron churning out here? They can get killed by a bow and arrow and a handgun.

That would tie in Doctor Strange really nicely. I've also heard the Norn stones as a way to bring him in, but I thought those were more related to Thor.

quote:
SOUL - This gem is the first to be seen in continuity in the Power of Warlock series. It is arguably the most dangerous. Its sentience is the most profound, and it has shown a hunger for souls, a hunger that can possess a novice user. This gem allows the user to steal, manipulate and alter souls, living or dead. Within the gem are collected souls in perpetual limbo. Mastery of the gem would allow the user to control all living life in the universe. The gem also allows the bearer access to an idyllic pocket-universe that is much like heaven.
both Dr.Strange and Adam Warlock are closely tied to this stone.
Based on imagery alone, I believe they've now turned Vision into Warlock
From Thor 1- the eye of agamotto

How many of these artifacts were in the vault in Asgard in Thor 1? I need to watch that one again.

essentially all of them, all though it's pretty much determined that the Gauntlet itself is not the "real" one.

Hopefully they'll wrap up the stone saga before my grandkids are too old to care.

saw it today, and the criticism that this one felt like more of a an item to check off to get to the next phase seems right. It wasn't a bad movie at all, it was quite good actually.
I guess the problem with introducing Thanos so early is, the audience knows he's the ultimate big bad this is all leading to. Ultron felt like just a minor speed bump in the way of this inevitable collision.

and speaking of Thanos, yeah maybe it is about time you get off your big arse and actually do something. Seems like a pretty elaborate scheme to get your gem back, when you could have just came down, beat the shite out of everyone, and get it back.

Since apparently Thanos is pulling Loki's strings why isn't the order to Loki to just bring back the scepter? Or bring me both when Loki steals the Tesseract in the first two seconds of the Avengers?

Maybe Thanos thought the task was beneath him and so simple his puppets could accomplish it.
