Binge watch Clone Wars on netflix for as long as you can in one sitting.

You'll feel like you're on an adventure in outer space jumping from planet to planet and solar system to solar system and Earth doesn't exist. It was such an amazing feeling especially in the later seasons.

Can't wait to do the same with rebels when Season 4 wraps up as its the last season.

Making Anakin's rise and fall the focal point of three full movies was a huge mistake.

Not really.

The originals were centered around Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker and went into so much detail on them.

It makes perfect sense for the prequels to follow suit.

No, and I haven't even seen the last two that are supposed to be good.

Who cares how many they make? How does even making the prequels affect the greatness of the first three? It doesn't to me.

No prequels, no current movies, no George Lucas tweaks. Just the original 3 in their original form from here on out.

Yeah, I do. Those movies came out when I was a kid, and I thought that as-is, they were fantastic. I spent a lot of time fantasizing about further adventures.

I don't like the later tweaks put into the originals, at all.

And while I still eagerly await the next release, several things are happening:
the newer movies aren't living up to my hope and expectations, and they are hedging in the storylines. There once were many great directions this story could go, but all that is gone now.

Nothing wrong with continuing the saga or having prequels it's just a shame that they all sucked.

No. Why would I? It's a great universe to expand. The shittiness of the prequels doesn't take away from the greatness of the originals.

TFA was good but Rogue One was by far their best Star Wars effort minus maybe Empire.

Nah, I thoroughly enjoyed Rogue One and TFA. Rogue One gave me the Vader scene I've been waiting to see my whole life.

Yes. I do. It's not about the art of film. It's all about $$$$.

I think that Rogue One is actually the way to go, honestly.

Star Wars, after all, is set against a galactic war of epic proportions. There are iconic craft; X wings, TIE fighters, Star Destroyers etc. Iconic soldiers (Stormtroopers).
There has always been the potential to make non-Skywalker movies, in the fashion of war movies. They may not be tied to history like the WW2 films are, but I suspect the audiences would buy tickets and see the films. SW Battlefront was a huge success as a game, because people want to see these battles played out... it's fun.

And by staying in the original trilogy timeframe, you don't affect the broader story, only color it in.

Anyone who is a star wars fan and do not watch these because they are animated cartoons are really missing out. once you get into the story, they are just as enjoyable as the movies.

kind of...I think jedi not sucking would be first on my star wars wish list...contingent on that, then it would be having the OT be the only star wars movies

but since jedi was eh at best, and the prequels being some of the worst movies ever made...i'm all for new star wars.

it's a tough call. when you like something you naturally want more...at the same time you know the more you make the less special it becomes and the more diluted your enjoyment becomes.

but since the prequels already served as the other edge of the sword, why the frick not...at the very least so it can be redeemed.

I've really struggled getting into TCW. Some 2-3 episode arcs are very good, but there's a lot of filler. The order of the episodes (particularly in the early seasons) is all jumbled together and is jarring.

The only thing that I resent is the unavailability of the original versions of the first three films.

I'm not pissed about Watchmen films and prequel comics and cartoons because I can still read the original series, unaltered.

But Lucas took that option away from Star Wars fans. That's unforgivable.
