Anyone sorta wish the original Star Wars trilogy was all that was made?

No prequels, no current movies, no George Lucas tweaks. Just the original 3 in their original form from here on out.

Let the downvotes commence.

No to prequels. I enjoyed Rouge One and The Force Awakens.

frick no.

I do wish they would reboot the sequels and do them correctly.

And I loved TFA. Can't wait to see how this trilogy plays out.

And the animated shows have actually been enjoyable. I feel like they get passed over as kids shows, but they're Alot of fun.

Also, if we never had the prequels, we'd never have this awesome gif:

No, had the prequel series been legit I'd be ok.

But I don't care, I didn't invent any of it. One day those "first" 3 May be rebooted anyways

The prequels were very unnecessary, but it could've been cool to see maybe three separate back-stories (Obi-Wan, Anakin/Vader, Han Solo, etc.) Making Anakin's rise and fall the focal point of three full movies was a huge mistake.

The biggest gripe I have with the new ones is that I wish they could've been made 10+ years ago.

I don't need to see 4 year old Anakin.

Start the story arch when he is 18 at the earliest.

I wish they had made one more after Return to close things up and end it. You had the core 3 and the writing at that time wasn't abysmal and stilted. It could have been nice closure. Maybe Luke dies...in battle...and they leave it with a cliffhanger - is the Empire going to prevail forever?

That does not sound like closure.

It's closure for the series, Luke dies.

But it's nice to have that what if? wondering...like all good series have.

It's emotional closure, as closure means...it's not tie everything up in a nice bow.

Lets face it. Star Wars was 5 characters (not talking about books, fandom and the expanded Universe.) Really mostly 4.

They could have killed off more...but killing Luke after Vader...leaves a nice little ending, a little wonderment. But the father son battle is over.

no before the prequels, yes after the prequels. Disney saved the franchise by purchasing from Lucas.
