Netflix also came out with Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy war in the past week. It is pretty good.

I just pounded out the final 4 episodes, great show. Random thoughts

Shed have to play Mike Obama or Hillary Clinton for me to hate her. God I’m so attracted to Betty Gilpin even when she looks haggard. There’s just something about her

Of course nobody ever bothered to wipe the blood off DeHaan’s face even after weeks of being partially scalped

Having been in the SW corner of Wyoming many times, it bugged me the constant switch between blizzard and desert. Everyone was in a 50 mile radius, Wasatch front ain’t the North Pole, if it’s snowing there it’s snowing on the plains

Ending was predictable, knew Hitsch would die

frick the Mormons!

Yeah, not the greatest. Would've been better if the boys father was B Young & we had that show down.

Finished this earlier this morning. Really great show. I love it when a show like this is approved in a miniseries format where it’s a complete story. Even if they decided to move onto a S2, S1 works as a complete work on its own.

Loves the absolute brutality of the show, because I feel like that’s exactly how it was back then.

Isaac was obviously great. But I think my favorite character was Bridger. And even though I know it wasn’t Steve Zahn, about 2-3 times an episode I kept thinking it was Steve Zahn.

Kim Coates was great as BY. Almost didn’t even recognize him.

Betty Gilpin was really good, as was the son. Those two just couldn’t catch a break.

The whole Jacob/Abish plot left a lot to be desired, especially with how it ended (what was the point?). I half expected her to give herself to Red Feather.

I’m not sure how true/fictional this was but I never knew the Mormons were about that murderous life back then. Those were some bad dudes (and pretty evil too obviously).

I was a little disappointed that Isaac never got to enjoy those Betty Gilpin boobs though. And watching this made me want to watch GLOW again.

It did seem a little weird that Isaac didn’t want to settle down with them when he clearly had feelings for all three, and the feelings were reciprocated. And an odd ending was to know that Sara, Devin, and Two Moons are going to die trying to get the California on their own.

But I really liked this show a lot. I’ll have to catch up on the thread to see what others thought.

I've been stuck on I-80 or had to turn around more times than I can count due to weather. I can't imagine being in that area in the 1800s during winter. Rough.

Great show. I finished it last night. End was predictable but overall great show. Living in Idaho now and having to go to SLC alot for work, it's amazing how much Mormons still control the area.

Looked her up while watching the show to see if I knew her from anything else. Saw they were covering up those biggins she's got

20 min in. Nothing like a period piece with mouthy arse rude women leads whod have long ago had their teeth knocked out in this time.

Gonna finish the episode but had to break. Just finished the 100 last night and have had about all i can take of over emotional women making stupid decisions for themselves.

The Indians would not have put up with the Pratt woman’s insouciance. The tip of her nose would have been cut off, at the very least. White people were non-people to them, invaders, and even as slaves were raped and disfigured.

This show still managed to have a couple of “strong, mouthy Karens “ who got people around them killed. NOT history, that I am aware of. The atrocities were committed by both sides, in many horrible ways. These were not really touched upon and should have.

I finished. It was an okay watch but the ending was lame and left a lot to be desired. Could have just left out all of the mr pratt stuff and had the whole thing give more closure.

Uhh...the good Indians literally walked down a line of tied up women and slit their throats lol. The mormons were basically the KKK.

The only redeeming characters were the two kids in the main group, and the adults both because they went through standard (but different character arcs), the chief indian woman, and the US Army.

It definitely gave everyone on every side equal share of praise and scruitiny.

I liked it a lot.

Taylor Kitsch is always such a badass in stuff.

I enjoyed it. The scene where the guy realized he shot his wife was pretty heavy. That French old old lady is stuff of nightmares

Old gal has leprosy I think. Liked how they used the French kid's doll as a sign for Lucas to turn around.

A couple of people have said this. But I read an article where the folks who made it said they went back and forth on many different endings, ranging from nobody dies to everyone dies.

Agreed. Too grayscale but I enjoyed it. A half decent western will always draw me in.

Especially when it properly portrays the savagery and survival instincts of both sides.

The last real western film I liked was Hostiles.

It was great. Only negative was they didn’t have the balls to kill Giplin or the kid. It felt like a Disney movie with a ton of blood in that regard.
