I don't know what show you were watching, but that didn't happen. I just finished it. He was afraid they were about to shut him down from losing so much weight. He didn't have any fat, cause the wolverines kept taking it. He was desperate and about to quit. Unless it was all theatre..

He had lost weight but it was all extra weight he packed on prior to the show. He was worried they would pull him, but only because he was concerned they were looking at scale numbers only.

He wrote about it extensively in his blog. He is naturally a skinny dude. When he won he was basically at his fighting weight.

He had a ton of food stock piled and could have lasted a good bit longer without even hunting or fishing more.

ETA: they edited it to make it look like he was struggling.

Not fond of this interview. Rogan had diarrhea of the mouth and didn't ask probing questions. Watched it to see what Jordan had to say, but JR wouldn't shut up.

So on this current season does everyone who gets to 100 days get a million? Or the person that stays the longest after getting to 100? I’m not clear on that. My son and I love this show.

Joe is an actor right? No way he killed the squirrel and rabbits. They looked like they were dead a while. The rabbits I may could understand. But he miraculously hit a squirrel with a rock and it looked like it was a week stiff.

yeah, read his bio on the History Channel website. He's done this same thing before in Siberia. Dude sounds freaking insane. His facebook profile is pretty crazy too.

Yea im thinking they are staging some stuff like that. They did it also twice during the preseason game "Alone: The Beasts". One lady threw a moose bone to kill a grouse. Also why didnt it show the guy who lost his fire rod look for it by the hot tub. I had to rewind to make sure it was the same guy....im thinking check by the hot tub!!! Just showed him on the trail.

Well they didn’t exactly have a cameraman there to follow him. If I were him and panicking thinking if I don’t find this in the next hour or two I’m done, I probably don’t bother filming myself going to the hot tub either. I’m sure he checked there though.

Couple of things...

It's very possible to hit a squirrel with a rock in a tree. These critters are everywhere. Before posting I re watched that part of the episode. Here's the Dead Animal:

Alone Squirrel

He had the Go-Pro on his head and had really good rocks. He made 3 throws before hitting it. It wasn't stiff. In the image he was holding it at the scruff of the neck. I'm comfortable that he made the throw.

On the guy losing the Fero Rod...I have a sneaking feeling he "lost" it on purpose so he could tap out and save face. Just a hunch.

I've been doing some reading and they are required to film around 8 hours a day so a lot of stuff gets left on the editor's floor.

EPISODE 2:

Another good episodes. 5 new participants featured.

Roland: Collected a lot of Cranberries and Blueberries and had a very clever storage. Built and insane rock shelter. The calories he must have burned lifting those heavy rocks must have wore him out. It's amazing he didn't hurt himself...This guy is a beast.

Mark: He's one of my early favorites. He's catching a lot of fish and knows how to smoke them. He's in a prime location. Another great shelter with a great built in fire-pit. Those big flat rocks are really useful.

Callie: The only girl shown so far. Her location doesn't seem to be the greatest and I'm sure if it's going to provide what she needs. Her shelter building doesn't appear to be the greatest. She can hunt and has the skills but I'm not sure about her decision making as she wanted to follow a pack of Wolves...

Correy: Tough break. Fell victim to injury. He certainly had the skills, good shelter builder and didn't seem to have the emotional attachments that wear on a person. One bad step and twisted knee and bye bye. He tried to tough it out but did the right thing. If you saw the recap show he said he tore a meniscus and a partial MCL tear.

AMOS: Tough guy that grew up in extremely difficult circumstances. He a sentimental favorite. He's got the skills but after looking at his family bio I'm thinking he will miss his family and

Something about Mark’s demeanor in the recap made me immediately think that he didn’t win it. Who knows but that was the first thing I thought.

That rock house if f’ing sweet.

EXTREMELY pumped the show is back.
Realistically, they could film 3 different groups of 10/year & air an episode every single week. I would DVR & watch them ALL.

I am really intrigued by this season's approach of the 100 days. Psychologically, as someone mentioned earlier, the countdown to 100 has to be a complete mental edge for the better as opposed to the unknown number of days. Even when you know that before now no one made it beyond 90s.

I'm LOVING all of the planning & execution of much better shelters this season. They seem to be planned out far better than before. After all these seasons & plenty of talks with friends over drinks + cigars, my plan would be to build + expand the shelter every few days to conserve energy but also build a postive mentality of accomplishment. This way I'd stil have the energy to fish, hunt, set + check traps multiple times per day.

Some of the shelters this season are amazing, especially considering how quickly they constructed them.

Haven't watched all seasons, only the last 3 but does it seem like the level of competency across the board is up this season or is it just me?

Also, someone asked earlier.....I'm not clear on the payout. Does everyone that makes it to the 100 days get the million of do they split a million??

That was my feeling also. In the fist 10 seconds he realizes it's not in his pocket he falls to his knees and screams to the sky. Why? Just look around for it. He was using it as an excuse because he didn't want to say the real reason.

New episode tonight. No one tapped out last week. In the recap show they let the cat out of the bag that some of contestants over the years have complained about lack of resources in some of the places they've been dropped. That makes a whopper of a difference. In this season we are seeing some people really struggling to get food while others are doing extremely well.

Here's to a hopefully good episode tonight.

Sorry but I immediately rooted against Keith when he tattooed himself and recognized the danger. So this episode was good for me.

I think Keith did that tattoo on purpose hoping he'd get an infection and have to leave, he wanted an out.

Yeah, I think Keith sabotaged himself to make it look like sickness took him out rather than looking like a quitter.

I will say this season I could see 2-3 people that could make 100 days because of location and ability to gather food.

Callie is making the most of a lousy location but think once the snow comes and the lake freeze she's going ti struggle much more if she can't start finding enough food to store.
