Because the show needed it to happen.
Or, because like with so much else in this show, the writers are lazy AF.

I really want to like this show, but . . .
Good visuals do not make for a good show.
It needs good writing.

Watched the first episode and it was just ok. Loved the scenes of when the aliens get lose in the ship and you see it over the cyborg's shoulder in the window of the door.
But it feels a little disjointed to me for some reason. Hopefully that comes together by the end of the season.

Yeah it is odd seeing how ATC works today. Every plane is seen and spotted you think a kilometer long ship coming in hot would have some way to track or even stop it.
Alien Resurection did the same thing.

I’ve only been a casual viewer of the Alien movies, but I have really enjoyed the first 2 episodes. So far the acting has been very good, and it’s a good storyline. I see Noah Hawley had been doing Fargo. I need to check it out I guess.

All this tech, and they don’t have the technology to see thermography from life forms through walls at a far distance

Writing is shite, acting is mostly shite(Olyphant is great in general, but he's phoning this in), story is shite, Sydney Chandler is the lone bright spot. Making a xenomorph the primary antagonist for a limited series was a terrible idea in the first place, no way it doesn't run out of steam by the 3rd or 4th episode
I actually think Fincher's version might have worked for a TV adaption. But the plot would have had to be centered on the prison system/inmates and their cult bullshite, with the xenomorph playing an ancillary role

It’s hilariously bad

I’m trying to watch episode 1 but I’m bored out of my mind
This show is very “diverse” except when you get to the evil corporation scenes
And I love the Alien franchise

It looks great, everything else is not good at all.

I liked the characters for the most part except for the brother. He seems bizarre as an actor. Can't quite put my finger on it.

I liked Kirsh and Morrow, the kids are annoying and I agree, the brother is the worst.

I had to rewatch it a couple of times, then watch a video breaking down all the easter eggs I missed.
There is a lot in that first esposdie.
But at first it seemed really cringy. But after reading up on it. It makes a little more sense and the cringe is cringy. Overall I liked it.
Will watch more of it.

It seems to me like it totally departed from the Alien principle. You don't see the Alien almost at all until it wrecks you. That's Alien. It's fear, anticipation, uncertainty, and there is almost none of that in the first two episodes.
That it starts with talking about synths etc in the intro means the show isn't about the Alien. I've had to watch both episodes twice to kind of get it, because it didn't engage me enough to pay attention a few days ago the first time.

So...
I powered through ep 1.
does it get better? I'm not even discussing the actual story... does the production get better?

Episode 2 was better but also retarded. The alien kills entire groups of people in 1-2 seconds which makes absolutely no sense, it’s clearly attacking capitalism and billionaires and how they’re dangerous.
Alien looks odd and not quite as good as the movie designs. The new small alien creatures are lame so far. So, SO diverse. The response team looked like they picked them up from a fricking book club at the library. They’re supposed to be soldiers???
It’s pretty silly overall. The only thing I like about it is the sister that’s a female synth

I actually enjoyed first two. I’m assuming the hybrids are kids as a form of plot device so they don’t wreck the aliens in 5 min

There are only 2 esposides out.
The second esposide, is different.
Its more action packed and not trying to tye in everything together.
I Hope it gets better.

The issue with the show is pretty straightforward. They’ve established these new super synths exist that can perform feats that would make spider-man jealous.
An alien shows up proven to be defeated by normal humans canonically…
Uh….
Alien instantly dead.
/the end

My guess is the super synths will be “linked” somehow to the alien with some wonky backstory about the alien history feeding into the new synth tech, ultimately causing the super synths to be nerfed heavily
Otherwise, the show ends 3 minutes into the next episode when the alien runs to the super-synth chick like a buzz saw
