i think D/D are going to run as far away from that as they can and just say "well prophecies often aren't true" as they discuss Cleganebowl

I admit it's a little weird that the WW aren't the final enemy. Makes me wonder if we're going to see some SJW Utopia at the end, but I don;t see how "all of our favorite characters are going to die" if they all lived through this recent battle.

Personally, I think a lot of it is enticing people to buy the last books, which I am newly confident will be released. It's too huge a potential money maker to just blow off.

All of the complainers will flock to buy the last books, which will promise a radically different, more intellectually satisfying ending.

Right. I am pretty sure there has been no talk of AA on the show. Sorry folks, not in the TV story.

Yes, it was. And the prince who was promised was brought up a number of times.

I think a lot of people are confusing what many of us mean about Arya not making sense within the story. We are not saying she isn't a capable fighter or that she hasn't been groomed to kill since season 1.

It is that through foreshadowing and prophecies, she in no way was groomed to be the person to end the Great War/kill the Night King.

There will be a melt if Arya doesn't kill the NK in them.

Perfectly o.k. with Arya and agree she's really the best candidate for taking down the NK. Jon or Bran would've been o.k. in some epic struggle or magic with the red woman. Arya handled it in the only way it could've worked for her.

Just wish there'd been more lead in. Did Arya morph into a wight or just hide, or simply slip through his guards? Hopefully this gets explained.

The name of the TV show* is Game of Thrones, not Zombies and Dragons. Of course the ending was always going to ultimately be about the iron throne.

The Night King was playing the game of thrones though. To have him defeated so easily after seven seasons worth of build up is THE biggest disappointment of the show.

One slice from Jon’s sword and the NK is dead

In the after the show they said that the only way to actually kill the NK is valriun steel in the heart where the CoTF placed the dragon glass to create him.. so just a slice wouldn't have killed the NK. Had to be stabbed in the heart like Arya did with the dagger.
