As much as I will hate to see the butcher the EU it is gratifying having to see them crawl back to it for scraps of content because they literally created a sequel trilogy that ended the franchise and they’re so TERRIFIED to return to theaters.

Maybe in another universe where the owners of the star wars IP actually like star wars and star wars lore and fans.
As it turns out you'll never get any genuine attempts at a good star wars story because there are too many political orgs in Hollywood that will not allow star wars to be created without also promoting their DEI religion.
It's zombie star wars with progressive puppeteers just using it.
People who disregard the political priors of Hollywood employees are making a huge mistake. It motivates everything they do, it's their religion.

It was revenge by the feminists for not giving Leia the exact same abilities and character importance as Luke (*gasp* a man).
They wanted their "YOU GO GIRL! frick MEN!" moments slathered all throughout the movie.
How can you possibly ever write ANY coherent story line when there's so much demand by the industry employees to bathe the content in progressive politics and race/gender swaps?
The entire industry has become bland.
1. Pick a few progressive causes
2. Pick characters and brand
3. Write a movie promoting progressive causes and advertise the brand
Kathleen Kennedy ditched the previous star wars lore because she couldn't construct her vision of star wars around it (i.e. lots of feminist tropes and other progressive dogmas).
