Saw that someone mentioned Mike Meyers being difficult to work with, which potentially killed the momentum he had with the Austin Powers and Shrek franchises.

I know Katherine Heigl was this turned up to 11. She had the huge breakthrough role on Grey's Anatomy and Knocked Up, but not only her public antics but stories about her, her manager, and all sorts of other things on set cropped up.

Chevy Chase (though really his career did not seem to be truly hampered by it, depending on your take on it).

Val Kilmer:
quote:

The actor has a notoriously bad reputation from his on-set antics. He was fired by Richard Stanley from The Island of Dr. Moreau after only three days. This is because he reportedly was always fighting with people. He was also called “childish and impossible” by Batman Forever director, Joel Schumacher. This is probably one of the reasons why you don’t see him much today.

Any others come to mind?

The last time I saw Kilmer was that Fassbender Snowman movie. Seemed that they shoehorned Kilmer's scenes into an existing script and had to loop his dialogue in post.

Ben Stiller is considered one of the worst. But like J. Phoenix his talent and body of work overcomes it.

Josh Trank had his issues on FF, but is fine. Actually a really passionate and nice guy.

Heard it was his arguments with Marvel that cost him the role as Bruce Banner. That was definitely a lot of money lost.

Norton would be near the top of the list. He is notoriously difficult. Total perfectionist making them do hours of takes on a scene that they had plenty of good shots for. He has literally taken over scripts and editing of movies he wasn’t a script writer or director for. He even made fun of himself for all of this in Birdman.

Supposedly he’s changed a bit but he earned himself a pretty bad rep.

Chevy really hasn’t had much of a career for 25 years outside of Community (which he was notoriously difficult and everyone hated him) and a bit part in Hot Tub Time Machine.

worked around Chevy for a few days on the latest Vacation ... he was very nice to all involved and no issues on set. Mind you it was for three days and he probably received a cool million.

Last thing I saw her in was a cat commercial . I remember her telling her side of the story on Stern and it was hard to believe.

Norton was literally paid to do this by most productions on which he did it. When he took the Hulk job, the rewrites were part of his contract. We don't tend to shite on the perfectionist directors who stall productions for perfection, such as Kubrick and Fincher.

You can get away with that kind of stuff if you're a big enough star. Norton isn't.

Her antics didn't kill her career, but it earned her lots of points for being very difficult to work with by being a woman/child on set of many of her movies.

Marilyn Monroe was basically a whack job on movie sets and earned the scorn of many of her male, and female co-stars.

Add Rachel McAdams. By all accounts is a huge bitch that no one wants to work with.
