Christian Slater. Was big in the early 90's, kind of faded out after True Romance. Thought he was going to be the next big thing after that movie.

Josh Harnett. Supposedly hated being a celebrity.
Skeet Ulrich
Matthew Fox

Zen Gesner. Had a Pierce Brosnan kinda look, ruggedly handsome. And his role on Sinbad had all the fixins of a "breakout" role. But it just never happened for him. He did guest work on soaps or something and then vanished.

Jacqueline Collen too for that matter. I think she could've easily carved out a Lucy Lawless- or Jeri Ryan-esque niche if she'd stuck around.

Having the same actor in two similar franchises in the same genre is super confusing.

I’ll offer Josh Hartnett (though he’s been making a comeback lately) and Julia Ormond.

Only thing I've seen Hartnett in lately was the episode of Black Mirrow with Jesse from Breaking Bad. Very good episode.

Also a big fan of Harnett. He was great in Lucky Number Sleven, Black Hawk Down (huge cast though), 30 Days of Night.

Yeah, would have expected more from his career. Not sure if it was him or his agent. He seems like one of the "no-Hollywood" types. Maybe he stepped away for a bit or went low key on his own... no idea.

Whoever said Ben Foster, you're the definite winner.

he's had a movie every year for almost 20+ years outside of 3 or 4.

he was in Wrath of Man and Oppenheimer and did great in both. he purposely stepped away.

Patrick Wilson. I really liked him in Hard Candy, The Alamo, The Phantom of the Opera, Little Children, The Watchmen, and The A-Team. It's sad he never became big. Though he has been pretty good in The Conjuring and Insidious franchises.

He was great in Bone Tomahawk.

Oppenheimer was a good role for him. Might could bounce his career back on track as far as bigger roles. It's been some years now and the show got cancelled but he was good in Penny Dreadful.

I agree with the OP on Taylor Kitsch. He's had a decent career but I thought he had A list potential. I do think John Carter was a pretty big set back. Even though that movie actually wasn't that bad

I thought Casey Affleck would take off a little more. At least some more leading roles. He's a fantastic actor and won some big awards, been in some good movies, but not really a leading actor. Definitely the best actor of the Affleck brothers.

Reese Witherspoon sold her production company for around half a billion dollars. She's not worried about acting.

Exactly. She's doing exactly the projects she chooses to do and nothing else. She's done The Morning Show and Little Fires Everywhere. She's done a few other things. She's busy with her stores (Draper James), her book club, and whatever the hell she feels like.

The poster who said she never became a bigger star had a really bad take. She is a huge star.

Jeffrey Wright. Been a fan since I first saw him in Shaft, but he's been acting long before that. Everything I've watched him in he really puts his all in whatever role he's playing and has such a recognizable voice.

Michael Pena. Great actor that has been given great roles for a while now, but not as big as he should be. Maybe the Scientology thing hurts him a bit.

I thought that Shailene Woodley had a great screen presence in The Descendants, and assumed she was going to have a bigger career. Then she kind of got stuck in a lesser franchise, got her scenes cut from Spider-Man, then she got too political in her public life.
