I recommend everyone stay away from 4chan tv and lit boards, and westeros.org as people are posting spoilers all over the place. People claim to have the book, but there is no way to tell what is true and what isn't. I don't really mind knowing what I saw, but for those that don't like spoilers, they are pretty epic if true.

Any good spoiler free or mild spoiler only reviews?

Everything I just thought about saying could be taken as a spoiler, especially since i haven't read the book and I don't know the significance and placement of stuff. No matter how general. Im going to refrain from even saying a generalization. And the reviews I have seen, simply by talking about the charcters or the pace give stuff away if you think about it.

Didn't want to spoiler up anything in the DwD thread for those who haven't read all the books yet, but...

Red Wedding

frick

fricking frick

Partially spoiled it for myself seeing mentions of it in threads, and could see it being led up to, then GRRM throws the arrival the Dornishmen (I think) for Joffrey's, so I figured, maybe? Maybe it'll be those frickers and just someone good gets caught in the crossfire? Nope, I was foolish.

I'm convinced, either Walder Frey is going to rule the entire world, or the last chapter will be someone noble laying claim to everything, peace sweeping across the lands, right before a fricking meteor destroys them all. There is no happiness in this world without impending doom.

Back to reading. I just had to post, as it was either this, or find the face of someone named Walder to slam my book into repeatedly.

Yeah, I kind of saw too many spoilers too.
I'm 35% done the second book (according to the Kindle). But I already know of the Red Wedding.

I'm bored by Jon, and hoping something happens on the wall soon. I hate Greyjoy, just cause and I can see what is coming from Pyke.

Its hard to put the book down. I ran through GOT this weekend and am a third done Clash of Kings.
Well I can think of worse ways to spend a weekend.

I enjoy reading on the Kindle, but I have to have these books in hardback to put in my library.

After Tyrion it would have to be Jon, not counting them two I would guess jamie, his evolution as a character has just been crazy. It has almost been like real life, you know that person you meet for the first time and absolutely hate but after a few months/years you all of a sudden realize that they are one of your closest friends? thats how I feel about jamie. He has many flaws but at the end of the day you realize that he is actually a good man and every bad thing hes done hes done "for love". Thats respectable imo.

Whose yours?

ETA: apparently my phone went absolutely bat shite crazy this morning?????

The chapters with Dany and Daario are so fricking annoying and awful, I feel like I'm reading twilight. The guy is a caricature, a cartoon villain, the epitome of a tool. So lets get a recent description in ADWD:

quote:

The captain wore striped pantaloons tucked into high boots of purple leather, a white silk shirt, a vest of golden rings. His trident beard was purple, his flamboyant mustachios gold his long curls equal parts of both.

quote:

Daario with his gold tooth and trident beard.hilts worught of gold in the shape of naked women.

You've got to be kidding me right?

And these are the thoughts that Daenerys has of him.

quote:

How could I ever hope to sleep, knowing that my captain so close?

I need to change, to make myself beautiful. A wisp of silk that leaves my left breat bare for Daario's delight.

This goes on for a while, where she acts like Bella and swoons over this guy and wishes he was kissing and fricking her. It is nauseating.

Yes I'm hating. I'm mad he's styling.

How the frick are they gonna portray this man in the show and everyone not think WTF?
