I am sticking with mini series.

Chernobyl and Generation Kill come close.

Does it have to be war-oriented? Band of Brothers was great but Mad Men was undeniably better.

The choice of that one actor on how to play his character just ruins the whole experience. It’s a horrible choice or way over the top over acting. How in the hell could you compare it to BoB?

I disagree but not by that much, Mad Men is very very good.

Greatest thing ever put on film.

Part 1 is the best episode of any series ever made.

There are 152 1hr episodes.

Is it a series worth watching from beginning to end
Well you can start w/the episodes I linked. If you like them, proceed from there.

A few episodes are duds, as with any long running series. But most are at least watchable, and some are great.

Here is a very good website on the series, complete w/a detailed episode guide

the ending satisfactory?
There is no ending. The show was cancelled, & it ceased production

I like to think the squad is still out there, somewhere in France, shooting people.

10 mini-series (no order) just as good:

The Pacific
Lonesome Dove
John Adams
Chernobyl
Rome
Roots
Winds of War
Rich Man, Poor Man
True Detective (S1)
Holocaust

The Offer is fantastic and better the Band Of Brothers, which I liked a lot. If you are not familiar with it, it's about how the Godfather movie came to be. Backstories involving the Mafia, power struggles, etc.

First time I have ever seen someone try to make this claim. It was thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable and then you would never watch it again. Also, it is almost completely fabricate.

BoB and Combat! are great, but Baa Baa Blacksheep (“Black Sheep Squadron”) is a contender IMO

It’s the best mini series in my opinion

I don’t think it’s fair though to consent to actual series that have to continue on for multiple seasons

The Sopranos is the greatest series of ALL TIME. If we are only talking mini-series then I would have to agree with Band of Brothers.

I judge all series by Sopranos, and only Breaking Bad sniffed that greatness level, but still comes in a very distant second.

Aside from Columbo reading the script, the scenes w/Al Ruddy & the Mafia (being present at the Columbo shooting, etc) were totally fictional.

Best thing about it by far was the guy playing Robert Evans

Kafka

I watched this series as reruns when I was a child.
The series came back on TV around 10 years ago and it ran through each episode twice and went back off. I still believe it comes on either Saturdays or Sunday nights on like the Inspiration Channel or something similar.
I have also once watched from start to finish once on the computer.
It's a great show and well written.
