But hey, he stepped in and put his hand up to say “that’s enough” for the beating. Upstanding fellow there.

Finished the season after watching NBA WCF. That was a weird way to end the show. On one hand, I am glad they didnt go the school shooting route because seeing that dramatized probably would have just fricked me up... But man that ending was so stupid. After starting this show based off of the suicide of a fictional teenage girl, with that ending it looks like theyre bout to turn this into a random teenage drama show based on the lives of Clay and friends. I don't think im really interested in that.

My favorite episode was by far when Mr. Porter was on the stand. I felt even though he made a mistake in his meeting with Hannah, he got unfair deal by saying hes to blame for Hannah's death. He recognizes his shortcomings, going through that grief, and working to be better for the next students who may need him. Great person.

On the other end, this show is feeled with a bunch of idiots. Like almost every kid in that school has some terrible parents. Its crazy.

This show had to have been made by people who hated athletes in high school. Maybe im just speaking from a biased point of view, but as an athlete in high school, it was nothing like this freaking school. Those idiots acted like it was their mission to make everyone else's life at that school miserable and a living hell. In my high school, we were definitely dumb and young. But I, personally would have never stood by idly and watch the shite that went down at Liberty happen at my school.

Spoilers for anyone who cares

Ending really pissed me off. The kids reaction to learning Tyler was on his way to shoot them all up was to gather round and discuss what to do. Everybody stays put while Clay goes to talk him down? While a romantic noble idea, in reality Clay gets his head blown off while Tyler walks right into the dance and starts shooting up the place because they didn’t lock the doors and call the cops the first second they learned of it.

And are you telling me Clay is gonna take the fall for this? Does Tyler just get away with Tony with no consequences?

I won’t be watching the 3rd season, it’s just too cynical and depressing of a show.

SPOILERS

Ditto. They had a chance to terminate their message of the consequences of “casual” bullying, especially when run amok that would have reasonated with the close. It felt like they were tying things up and closing out characters. Making a point to complete arcs. Even the season finale episode is called “Bye”

The episode and series should have ended with Tyler shooting up the dance off screen.

WTF now? Hannah is done. The actress said that she is done with the series, her character’s story is completed. What are they going to? Take a story with a powerful message (arguably irresponsibility so) and turn it to a mopy teenage melodrama? The dynamic duo of Clay and Justin going to go after Bryce in his new school because mystery someone put video tapes on his porch of fresh assaults?

fricking please.

I honestly wish the Tylet rape scene wouldnt have happened. We all knoe he was leading up to shooting. But going away helped get his mind right. School dance, everyone happy. Boom show is over.

Now wtf do they do. How the hell do they explain Klay having a fricking rifle in his hands in front of a school when police show up. Not to mention Tylers car is still at the scene, im sure evidence is all inside that car. They had so much potential to end this show in an amazing way. But instead, they decided to follow the money train.

Just finished season 2. That rape scene was really hard to watch. Clay's character was the most annoying in this season. He clearly has mental and anger issues that no one seem to notice.

I wonder which direction they will go for season 3 (if they have one) as the main plot... School shootings, sexual harassment, parents not taking responsibility for their children actions (it all starts from home), failing school systems, cyber bulling, opioids crisis

The Hannah story arc is done.
Now it will turn to Chloe and Bryce, probably about abortion decision.
Jessica is a whore and will probably have a pregnancy scare too.
I'm not sure how Clay will mediate all this now.

I feel like there is something they could do with Alex, Justin, and Jessica. Not to mention Justin still shooting it up when we thought he was getting better

I must have missed the part in the bible where Christ kicks the everloving shite out of a guy and puts him in a coma and is trying to avoid getting caught because it would be the 3rd strike that sends him to prison...but then again I haven’t read the entire bible.

That comment was made prior to the release of season 2, and has some legitimacy based on season 1.

Just finished up season 2, and here are my thoughts:

Episodes 1-4 were pretty meh, but episodes 5-12 were very good. The middle of episode 13 (from when the priest talked to Clay until the text from Tyler at the dance) was excellent.

Absolutely hate the ending. My views have been expressed by others in this thread, so no need to go into it.

Clay is a massive jealous bitch. He is insufferable. He is the definition of the crazy friend zoned guy and cannot accept it.

Zach is the most likable character. In the clubhouse when he says he was leaving the pictures because "he was a coward" was one of the truest moments in the show.

Of all the people in the show, I feel the most sorry for Tyler.

I thought the show did a good job of not trying to get too PC and push any type of agenda, except maybe not shooting up the school.

Lastly, I agree that the show is nearing its end, and maybe one more season max before it jumps the shark.

Yeah, Clay was definitely a huge bitch. Raging out because Zach and Justin had something real going on with Hannah before the one time they drunkenly kissed at a party.

I was rooting for Tyler to shoot and kill Clay tbh.

My wife, my son, and I finished the last 4 episodes last night. We commented that, sadly, the only thing realistic about what goes on at this high school is a shooter. Even more sadly, we were all hoping he’d kill all the major characters.

Loved season 1amd watched it a few times. Season 2 had some highs and lows. Some of the highs were excellent, and some of the lows were terrible. The mop handle scene was every bit as brutal as the suicide. More brutal than the American History X scene. But there’s no way you walk it off and hide that from your parents - that is going to require medical attention for sure.

That scene was brutal but very well shot IMO. I was hoping after that someone would find him there and get him medical attention and the school would finally do something. When that didn't happen, I honestly was hoping he would go after Bryce and his minions, especially the one who did it to him.

Yeah in real life the internal bleeding and probably perforated intestines would have him in the ICU for a while with major surgery, if it didn't kill him outright.

That scene was awful. Up until that I thought Tyler was going to get his shite together while they turned Monty into the school shooter in revenge against those who testified (especially after the whole bit where we find out his dad beats him and he's staying in a tent).

It was pretty clear that wasn't the original ending, seems like they did reshoots because of the Parkland shootings .

They might be able to retcon it by using a cold open to start season three with a black screen and screaming and gunfire in the back ground turning to focus on Clay with a gash on his head. The season deals with the fallout of the shooting the mental illness of both Tyler and Hannah

It was a very abrupt tonal shift. Idk if it was due to Parkland as much as the planned close of the series and execs wanting something less final.
