As I said, the same persons whining in this thread about Zachary and how they act doesn't mind if TM7 goes around mugging for cameras after a strip, scoop and score. They think its funny. But he regularly displays no better sportsmanship than ZHS baseball.
Bad comparison........College Football and HS Baseball are two entirely different scenarios.

Does it not matter to you that TCHS initiated the brawl itself by spiking/pushing?
I think the punishment for TCHS was just and deserved. Trust me, ZHS isn't just being punished for this one episode. It is a problem everytime they take the field and it just hadn't come to brawls and parents leaving the stands.
I hope this suspension send a message that it won't be tolerated......and not just for ZHS.

Im getting on in this real late so forgicve me, as a person from Zachary who has had 3 kids go thru there, dont think all of us around here like Cassard(the Coach) most of us dont, But he is in that good ole boy click with warren Drake the supperintendent and others,Drake fired Bob Howll because of Character but lets aloon and goon like Cassard walk around Zachary! Drake why arnt you firing him. Are those players still walking around with the Shirts saying(how you like my swagger) that cassard has them wear. Drake if you were a man of your word your fire Cassard! And bring in a Coach with Alittle Class. I feel for those boys who are Sneiors ,but them and their parents should look no futher than their Head Coach when they are looking to place Blame. Now when the playoffs roll around , your kids are gonna be sitting home. Where is the Character Drake?

My kid once spiked a 2B hard once, he didn't mean to do it, it just happened and he didn't even realize he spiked him that hard until the 2B was down. The difference was, after time was called, he apologized and reached out a hand to the player.
Oh, and also, the teams and parents weren't jawing each other the entire game, so it was just that, an incident. Fans understood the situation and gesture, the first reaction was "hey!" but the key he was the atmosphere of sportsmanship permeated the game to that point and that incident just passed.
The reason this "death penalty" was given was this was a train wreck waiting to happen on both sides, and the brawl was just the final piece of that drama. The penalty is not just for the fight, but for the environment that allowed this to actually happen.
Collective punishment happens since 1st grade. You feel sorry for the seniors? Seniors are there to provide LEADERSHIP, and that means playing baseball, not championship wrestling. Called third strike, let's fight. Blocking the plate, let's fight.
These programs, parents and fans need to get a grip on what playing baseball is all about. It's the only sport where when an opponent makes a great play, they get a hand.
If the umpires lose control, bring it up with the LHSAA. We don't need parents policing the flow of the game.
If it were my school involved, and this happened, I'd expect them to self-ban themselves, and in this case, they're appealing. That in an of itself speaks volumes about how "regretful" them both feel about what happened.
This is not a wimp, thing. It's not football, and it's not hockey. It's a lot harder and man-lier to play with class than to fight.

I don't think i've seen a Zachary team in any sport play with class or character.

So what is it you actively do to better the Zachary community?

Sounds about right.

Just now seeing this but I guess Teurlings likes to fight in every sport. We had a brawl with them in basketball my senior year of high school that also involved players, coaches, fans, and parents.

I think now since they reversed TCHS playoff ban, the LHSAA has no other choice but to do the same to Zachary. Regardless of who was wrong or right it sets a bad precedent, but at the end of the day who knows how the LHSAA is going to rule.

I'm confusing you with Maximus on the HS deal I think.

Didn't realize they had their ban lifted. Just read it on the advertisers site. If they don't lift Zachary's it could get ugly.
Why ban someone from post season play and then lift it? I'm not sure what has changed since the initial hearing.

so you can get in a bench clearing brawl, get punished and then unpunished?
well then shite, overturn every penalty they've ever put on a school

I just heard that Zachary lost their appeal and the playoff ban sticks for them. I read in the Advocate that the committee even reduced the suspension of the Teurlings parent that was arrested for choking a Zachary player. He was banned from all TCHS sporting events for a year, but now it is just for baseball this season. ZHS may have deserved to be punished, but the scales suddenly look a little unbalanced.

Maybe your program shouldnt have acted like a bunch of trash

Going back to football season, did Teurlings cooperate while Zachary tried to protect players/parents/coaches? I ask because we saw this past football season where the LHSAA banned one school who didn't cooperate while doing nothing to others he fought.

I don't believe so. In fact, I think both teams did some self-imposed penalties (the same ones) leading up to the initial hearing so that the blow would be softened. I'd love to hear how the LHSAA has taken the physical aggressor and allowed them to play in the playoffs, but the other team has to sit out. Get ready for the lawsuits to start flying from ZHS.
