The defense is an utter joke.
The offensive line is horrific.

They have sent draft pick after draft pick on offensive line and defense. All of them suck.

The team is completely undisciplined, they've had so many stupid penalties. It's all the coaches aren't holding these players accountable.

They need to clean house while they have a younger Burrow & Chase

Virtually every draft pick after Burrow and Chase has been almost unplayable.

That would cost Mike Brown a lot of money

Burrow getting hurt might result in a record that justifies firing Taylor.

The worst thing that could happen for the Bengals was getting to that Super Bowl in '21.

The offensive scheme was (and is) so flawed. The decision making from a play calling prospective was terrible. The defense played lights out, Burrow and co. played well enough. The players willed that team to a super bowl in spite of Taylor.

Now they're stuck with him.

Whoever made the decision to extend Higgins and not use the money elsewhere should be 1st to go

Most teams employ 10 to 15 scouts. The Lions employ 25.

The Bengals have 3 scouts.

Size of Analytics departments of the AFC North:
Ravens: 36
Browns: 35
Steelers: 27
Bengals: 9

The Brown family are cheap as frick.

The Bengals have drafted 27 offensive linemen since their last pro-bowl offensive lineman was drafted (2006 Andrew Whitworth). They absolutely whiff on this position more than any other team in the league.

The Bengals have only drafted two pro-bowlers taken after the 3rd round since 2008. DT Geno Atkins in 2010 (4th round) and P Kevin Huber in 2009 (5th round)

There’s plenty of money in the salary cap to do that if you’re willing to to pay bonus money and draft decently well. The eagles pay Hurts/Smith/Brown/Barkley and have the best offensive line in the league.

They also have the same issue LSU currently has where the playcalling is so vanilla and obvious that the offensive line has no schemed advantages.

The fact that, with a backup QB, they are still in shotgun on every 3rd and 4th and 2 or less is mind boggling.

The fact Burrow won 9 games with this team means he needs to be retroactively named 2024 MVP

I’m just going to assume this is accurate and say the NFL needs to step in and force them to sell or spend the money to keep up.

That is gross negligence

That would include Burrow who wanted his receivers paid, instead of demanding they fix the oline and defense.

But as long as he gets to wear weird outfits, he is happy.

OP is clearly referring to talent evaluation. The bengals have spent 15 top 100 draft picks on defense and o line in the past 4 years and they all stink. Their best draft pick since Chase is a sixth round running back.

Wow, yeah, when you put it that way.

They have been formidable since Burrow has been there, even when Browning has had to take over. They are straight up arse in 2025. If Burrow didn't get hurt in week 2 it would have been only a matter of time. The Denver front looks like its going up against a college squad. Actually kind of hard to tell how good or bad the Bengals D is when they are on then field so much every game.
