The 2nd best program in Louisiana is once again picked to win the Southland. Coach Scelfo is building a monster in Tangi, hats off to an incredible run these last few years. Unfortunately Ull refuses to come to town and catch the L they deserve.

Come back when SLU has won as many Southland titles as the rest of the conference COMBINED.

It only took Mother Nature and a pandemic to knock the real leaders of this conference along with 3 different head coaches in as many years. And they’re picked 3rd and slowly bringing back the talent.

Tick tock…

Open against miss st. I look forward to watching that one. They should put up points but don’t know if loosing 2 key dbs will go well against an sec squad.

Lol Mcneese is like 2-8 in the last 10 games vs SLU. Not to mention Mcneese has about 40 year head start in the league counting when SLU had to shut down football operations. But like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, the Lions have taken their rightful place atop the league in all sports, not only football.

It'll be Sawyer who will have some big time programs calling in the portal. Clement will have a limited role for sure, but Scelfo better let Sawyer cook.

Ya'll have been back in the FCS since 2003, and we still have more titles than ya'll in that time, and haven't won one since 2015.

Ya'll have less titles than us in all 3 major men's sports...but yeah, ya'll have arrived...

The golden age of Southeastern sports is now, we aren't living in the past around here.

Facts. Lake Chuck and the Cowpokes are a shell of what they used to be. Can keep putting lipstick on a pig but still a pig.

Just remember--your school is part of the conference, which means ya'll are one of those that threw the house at the pig to keep it from leaving the farm.

We might not be what we used to be, but we still own this conference...

As Martel told Falco, "Hey Lions, you're not even a has-been...you're a NEVER WAS!"

All joking aside, I hope someone steps up to the big stage, because it ain't us right now. Wouldn't mind it being Southeastern, either. We've always had some fun games with ya'll, and there will be an inexplicable lop-sided game thrown in. Always been an odd rivalry. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the Lions, too, since my grandfather was a running back on one of the only undefeated teams in Lions history.

The Southland has always been that conference that might get someone to the big stage occasionally, but never could close the deal until Sam did it, and then those prison guards ditched us for the shitty C-USA.

They've gone to worse places like Fargo, Missoula, Jackson State, etc. Never say never.

The Lion’s week 2 visit to Hancock Whitney Stadium does have me a bit nervous. Hopefully the Jags pay them the respect they deserve.
