they are just trying to shine a new angle on both the (1) black kids don't like baseball anymore and (2) travel ball is insane stories by combining the 2 into one long piece
travel ball is a terrible investment and i'm glad more people are attacking it
but adding in the shitty race angle is just unnecessary and creates arguments like the one i quoted above about how enforcing academic standards on baseball players is somehow racism

He is smart, he is gaining exposure for his business by playing up this stupid arse narrative... He was affiliated with the Atlanta blue jays system for a while and they recruited all the inner city blacks and gave them essentially scholarships to play(more than the complex I played out of).

I'll say this...Like with most things in life, if you're good enough, they will find a way for you to be on a team, whether you're poor, black or whatever other perceived you have to overcome.
