I don’t hate the dodgers, I hate what the rules allow them to do. They’re just taking advantage of it. It’s terrible for the competitiveness of the game. They play by a different set of rules than everybody else

I have no problem with what The Dodgers do, I just hate MLB and Manfred letting it happen.

Again, their tv contract is far and away bigger than anyone else's in baseball, even the Yankees....they get $350 million a year on a 25 year deal that won't end for another 12-13 years.
That is above and beyond what they get from ticket sales, concessions merchandising, etc. and the advertising dollars they get from Japan for Ohtani.
We can debate how much of that tv deal was savvy business negotiations and how much of it was good fortune and fortunate timing - I think a good bit of both - bit it gives then a huge advantage, they can outspend most any team if they want to. And as you say, when there is no cap that gives them a huge advantage....that's just a fact.
They have a good farm system yes, but as some have rightly pointed out, their roster right now - the core of their title teams, is not flush with home grown talent - the stars have largely been acquired via free agency and trades.

baseball bores the crap out of me but I would think MLB won't be very entertaining if the same team wins every single title. They do have a huge advantage over most teams. it's undeniable. I admire dynasties, but it eventually becomes self destructive.

Dodger ownership is doing this I suspect with the support of several other club Owners to force the issue for the lockout
