Just wow ESPN, is Ryan Leaf the best you can do for college football pundits!!!

ESPN really sucks, I am all for second chances but Leaf has had more than his share of 2nd chances. With all the former college and pro players want to be a sports commentator, they have to settle for a guy who flunked out of the NFL, arrested 3 times, and former drug addict, he is the best they could do??? He doesn’t even bring anything to the table with insight, what a waste!

Stay hot ESPN, soon enough you will no longer be the worldwide leader in sports.

Ryan leaf may be a drug addict, but atleast he isn’t posting about a drug addict that’s on TV at 11:30 at night and complaining about a network that he’s willingly watching

Strange melt. Sounds like you have a personal issue with Ryan Leaf.

MANY analysts failed in the NFL. Leaf isn’t the first with a questionable background.

I’m not saying he’s the model person for kids today, but I have no reason to sand-bag on the dude.

Vilma, Galloway, Spears, and kinda Desmond(a bust for the 4th pick but also SB MVP) are the only CFB guys on ESPN I can think of off the top of my head who didn't suck in the NFL.

I would want my NFL analysts to have been good NFL players and my CFB analysts to have been good CFB players

And I'm sure you found out about this on accident while getting ready for work or while at the gym

First it is not 11:39pm where I live you numbnut, do some research before you try and make a lame insult, it might make you look just a little less stupid! And second, you surely can’t be that stupid, all though from your post I am obviously mistaken in that thought!

The reason they have announcers and pundits on TV is so we can watch them. Kinda the whole point skippy!!!!

That is the whole point, why give a washed out, convicted drug addict, with a history of verbally abusing reporters and fans a coveted job like that. One which he really doesn’t bring a whole lot to the table! When they have so many talented ex-athletes without that baggage!

Look I am all for ONE second chance given, but 4, no fricking way! He doesn’t deserve it!

I have no love for ESPN but he’s actually quite good as an analyst.

He made a mess of his life and cleaned it up.

You going to hold other players to this standard if so there are a lot analysts that wouldn’t have jobs based on your holier than thou standards.

Where do you arbitrate second chances?

This is his first stint with ESPN. He has never left them high and dry.

Do people who have fricked up more than once in their life deserve to never work or be functional in society again?

Leaf was a good college QB. Just because he sucked in the NFL doesn’t mean he can’t talk college. What a strange strange melt

I assume you mean "scraping".

And Leaf was a Heisman finalist. I'm sure he brings more to the table as a college analyst than you're crying about.

His life experiences alone make him worth a listen. If you have ever heard him on Dan Patrick, he's great and much more humble than the a-hole he was when he was drafted.

He has turned his life around and commits a lot of time to speaking with young people about the mistakes he has made and how to avoid the pitfalls that he fell into. Good for him. It is heart warming to me to see people who have come back from tough situations to turn their life around. Even if they were totally to blame for those past bad decisions.

They throw 30 of them at you so that they can bring someone on all these talk shows all hours of the day on t.v. and radio.

Plenty of bad one's in that bunch he'll fit right in. I always thought the old Pittsburg fullback Merril Hoge was one of the worst. Terrible analysis and was always patting himself on the back for all the film he watched.
