Yeh, dead serious. It’s about branding. Houston and Nationals are two top size markets and they were the worst rated World Series
Braves have a much bigger brand than the Nationals and have a FAR bigger regional and national following.
While Houston is obviously a top 10 market I'm not sure about their regional following.Do they pull numbers in DFW? (bigger market BTW)

If this were the early 2000s the Braves would probably draw more eyeballs than any team not named the Yankees and the Red Sox because of their TBS deal.

I’m sure baseball writers on both coasts will be bitching about it tho
Besides the idea of watching the Braves in the World Series, this would be one of my two favorite parts about a Braves/Astros World Series.
The other awesome part about this matchup is how miserable it would be in both stadiums for Rob Manfred. This is his worst nightmare.

I hope the Braves make it and it pisses of as many people as possible.

This would be the NFL equivalent of a Patriots Saints SB from a commissioner hate perspective. He would be soundly booed at both parks and it would be hilarious

Those are two huge cities, so it won’t be the lowest ever, but that’s about as uninspiring of a matchup as I can think of. Sucks that all of the good teams flamed out in the playoffs.

On the contrary, I was just thinking that the Atlanta Braves vs. the Houston Astros is the most BAW World Series match-up imaginable. That's like, fishing hooks on hat-bills BAW, padnuh.

The ultimate matchup for stirring the NOLA inferiority complex.

The Braves are in the midst of a renaissance after everyone left them for dead in June/July. Absolute bender of an effort since August to get to this point and they're doing it with the most mix-matched roster we've had in a few years.
The Astros are one of the better teams in baseball from the past 5 years or so, and they're currently in a great dog fight with the Red Sox, who are on a sort of destiny run themselves.
Great teams are left in the playoffs. Simpletons just think great teams only come from LA/NYC/SF/CHI.

It might cause the MSB to explode though

It’s clear this guy doesn’t really know about baseball.
Houston has been the most consistent team since 2017. Throw in a good showing in 2015 as well.
Los Angeles has been good since what 2013?
Red Sox are always a good team though this year they needed the wild card.
Braves have a stellar group of guys that in a few years will likely be the best in baseball.

I don’t think it will piss anyone off besides Dodgers fans/the team they beat
The Braves are a large fan base and good for the MLB

NFL ain't going broke anytime soon.
Produces more revenue than any pro sports league in history.
