Baseball is too nuanced for the new age ADD generation. Sad to say but true

Must be the Nationals. They are the only unique team in that time frame.

The TV playoff package is idotic... why would anyone care about any of these teams if you can't find them on TV when the casual baseball fan interest begins to peak.

Such a good point. There’s no interest because people aren’t watching the lead up games to get invested. Gerrit Cole should be a household name and a ton of people still don’t know that much about him.

It’s been the case for a while now and it’s kind of a tricky spot. The regional network contracts have been very profitable for the individual franchises and the broadcasts lead their local markets on nearly every city the MLB is in. There is a ton of local investment by their community and they compared the Washington market from the World Series to the Stanley cup and it wasn’t close.

The problem is the national marketing and some is self imposed. If you turn on mlb central on the tv or listen to mlb network radio they devote an inordinate amount of time to the AL East and when they are eliminated then they are screwed. If you can’t market this series the problem isnt with the teams it’s with marketing

Considering they spent all season discussing how the Astros were the favorite, this argument is flawed at its core....

Literally it was said on air that they would rather talk about the yankees than this matchup as I was listening on Monday and you like to portray this as the astros were some huge favorite, i guess that became the pick after the yankees did nothing at the deadline but for majority of the season the yankees were the favorite or minimum dead even.

MLBN TV and MLB.com 28-20 Astros vs Yankees

My kids were actually watching it with me but they had to go to bed in the 2nd inning (eastern time zone). I know NBA starts late too but it's a shame.

So 28-20 the Astros were the favorites, so YES the Astros were the favorites all year. I know from MLB power ranking the Yankees led for maybe all of 3 weeks as it was the Astros and Dodgers all season.

ESPN Astros Champs

The Ringer Astros

Baseball America 3 Astros 2 Yankees
CBS 3 Astros 2 Yankees AStros WS Champs

Majority of Sites of Astros, yes several have the Yankees and a few have Nationals, Red Sox, Phillies, or Dodgers but yes the Astros were the favorite heading into the year and remained so as the year progressed.

5. Dallas
6. Houston

Two Texas cities in the top 10, even if one has the Rangers you know they switch their hats once the Rangers are eliminated
