They absolutely do. You won't ever see me argue against that.

They're the only real threat to get KD out of OKC at this point with the Rockets having fallen apart.

If he picks GS the Thunder should ask for Klay and if they balk maybe settle for Barnes, Iggy, and others.

I'd rather them be forced to gut themselves than completely help them out.

Also, in order to make it work, they'd have to dump Iggy, dump or stretch Bogut and Thompson, renounce rights to Barnes, Mo, Barbosa, Rush, Mcadoo, Clark, O'Neal, and Kuzmic.

So they'd have 4 dudes and guys that'd come sign for minimum or a mid-level deal.

They could keep ezeli too.

Color me as skeptical that they would be willing to completely overhaul key pieces on a team that looks unstoppable.

What makes his time frame silly and yours not so silly?? His is far more relevant that's for damn sure.

This is why it won't happen.

Or the Warriors would be stupid to try it out.

When you are already arguably the best team ever, you don't gut your roster for anyone.

The only way I'd want Durant if I was the Warriors would be at a huge discount. Even then I'd be nervous. I can't believe Curry is at all down with this idea.

I don't even think this would be a good idea.

I love Durant and all, but a big reason why the Warriors are great is because of ball movement. Durant seems like he might be a ball stopper and certainly thrives in iso-ball. Not saying he couldn't adapt but I don't know. Why fix what isn't broken when you're destroying teams?

GSW is destroying them right now, but teams will adapt... guys will get hurt, others will fall off, some will leave and get paid...

if you have a chance to get a Kevin Durant, you do it and tell Steve Kerr to make it work...

That's what everyone said about Kevin Love (I'm aware KD > KL).

It's pretty easy for complacency to set in, especially if they were to win it this year. Bringing in a guy like Durant or making any major change would give the team a nice boost to keep them motivated. Pat Riley recently made similar comments about the Big 3 in Miami. I can't find his exact comments but the theme was that the team lost a little of its fire and things got stale and he wished he made more changes to the roster.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Sure, you're not going to do better than 70 wins or whatever they post this year. But, you weren't going to anyway, even without Durant.

Honestly, if you get kd how does the starting lineup work? You lost majority of your quality depth. Too many shooters and ball handlers if kd starts.

Thompson off the bench?

Most of their bench are replacement level players outside of Iggy. Livingston, Barbosa, Rush, etc are just average bench guys and for the most part are easily replaceable.

Maybe I'm misreading him, but Thompson doesn't seem like the sort of cat that would embrace a bench role.

Iguodala and Bogut only have one more year on their contracts, was always a possibility they would lose Barnes anyway. So it's not like they were set for the next 3 years with their entire roster. They have their core of Curry, Green, and Thompson, everything else is up in the air.

They'd essentially be trading Barnes, Iguodala, and Bogut for Durant. I get the concerns but I do that all day.

Barring a first round departure for OKC, this is why I can't see this happening:

KD wants to be the man on a championship team. If he goes to GS, he'd forever be viewed as having had to ride the coat tails of Curry & co. to do it.

I'm just not seeing it. I'd confidently bet he will sign a 1 year deal with OKC this offseason with possibly a player option 2nd year.
