I am sure the WNBA viewership will go up due to Clark but not as much as they would like.

She can’t save the league. The NBA is saving the WNBA by giving them money otherwise the WNBA is bankrupt ten years ago.

WNBA needs about 100 Clark level talents to become even marginally interesting.

I don't get the want to bash Clark. She seems like a decent enough chick that plays an exciting brand of women's basketball.

Lsu fans oddly don't like her because their own player acted like an obnoxious jackass to her. Random people and the media probably don't like her because she's white and homely looking

My thought is I 100% agree with you.

But if you told me that a women's college basketball game would have better ratings than the NBA Conference Finals and come very close to the NBA Finals ratings, I also would have agreed with you and been wrong.

And Clark wasn't the sole reason, but she was a big reason that happened.

The snow flake race players would rather the league fail than Clark be the face of it.

They try to diminish her every game, point, interview.

They are already talking about how “Clark is what the wnba needs to save itself.”

I mean, they aren't wrong per se.

The WNBA lacks recognizable star power. Clark at least gives them a semblance of that.

She and Reese are the reason women's CBB has gained popularity/attention over the last year.

Now, will Clark and Reese make the WNBA comparable to the other major sports? No, but adding them certainly doesn't hurt.

I would want it to happen as well. Would be another sport to entertain people. Sounds like you want it to fail for political reasons as much as they want it succeed.

Also, how many "lololoollooollolollll" do we need to put in our posts if we are over the age of 14?

Is Clark really THAT much better of a college player than Kelsey Plum was?

Plum barely moved the needle for interest in the WNBA.

You started this fricking thread.

I’m not the OP, but this is an idiotic post. By this definition if I ever post about any organization in the world to laugh at them, that means I’m obsessed?

Frankly I just don’t see how she wouldn’t permanently alter the viewership levels and fan interest at the next level.

As more young girls take basketball seriously we will see an influx of higher skilled ball players go on to the WNBA. Who knows, maybe one day they'll have 4 really competitive teams at once. But that won't pull the male viewership numbers up enough to really move the needle. I do believe Clark and Reese will bring some new interest to the league but it won't magically bring a profit.

There’s a list as far back as the 90s of the next “recognizable start power” that was about to come take over the WNBA and it never happened.

No not really. She’s just the next savior in a long line.
