The Bears have so much leverage in this situation. Texans at 2 are going to want their guy but you bet your arse they’re going to be weary of their division rival at 4 who also needs a QB. Bears will ultimately let the two of them get into a bidding war for that pick. Unless a 3rd team comes from the clouds and offers the world to Chicago.

If the Texans like both Young and Stroud there is no reason to get into a bidding war. One of them will be there when the Texans pick #2. The bidding war will be between the other teams that need quarterbacks. You will be more likely to see the Colts and the Panthers getting in a bidding war than the Texans and Colts.

Why would the Texans trade out of the two spot? They don’t have a QB…

the texans will have a top 10 pick next year too. Along with having the browns first for the next two years.

Now i don't expect them to do anything smart with them but i can see the argument of waiting until next year to go after a QB.

Assuming the Texans GM doesn’t get whacked today. How much rope does he have still? Can he afford for his own job security to pass on a QB and stink again next year with no future QB? These guys have to be selfish sometimes for their own job security

Please inform us of the terrible picks made by Caserio for the Texans.

Young is clearly QB1 in this draft

The yes it’s only been 3 games but are we sure about this bump

Stroud has thrown for 900 yards in his first 3 games, 3rd most all time behind Herbert and Newton.

Nice bump.

But pretty silly to be gloating 3 games into the rookie season for this class.

The better continuation of this thread would be about the Bears.

Good karma winning that final game and ending up with the better QB

Heard an interesting stat on WGN tonight that said Fields was sacked once in every 12 passing plays while in college. Stroud, on the other hand, was sacked once in every 32.

If true, that further proves it's not just the Bears overall shittiness that's holding Fields back.

Yeah I know, I don’t mean it to be gloating. I really wasn’t big on Stroud to be honest. But he has looked really good so far especially considering the OL was dog shite to begin with and has been hurt on top of that. Definitely reason for Texans fans to have hope they found a QB.

With Young his size was/is a concern but I did think if he was at least 6’2” he would have been looked at as a Manning/Luck level prospect. Look at Bama’s O without him.

Ultimately though I think the obsession with getting the #1 pick (and I’ve been guilty of it myself) is overblown.

The Bears didn't extend Fields and traded for a super high 2024 pick. They've clearly always been looking at 2024 for their franchise QB

Bears may have picks 1-2 in the draft next year

The top 4 may be CHI-CHI-ARI-ARI

I just got back from the game in Seattle. Ended up watching Red Rifle Dalton rather than Lil’ Boy Oompa Loompa at opposing QB.

Gloating was not a good word choice on my part. I got lazy trying to think of something better.
I hope Stroud does well.
Also hope Young and Richardson do as well.
All of them seem like solid guys.

It’s good man, I know what you meant, 3 games is not a meaningful sample size we’ve seen guys start hot and then the league figures them out. And to be clarify I don’t mean to take a swipe at Young either, he definitely seems like a good guy and he’s extremely talented. Maybe this will go down as a one of those QB drafts where they all hit.
