I feel it may be the only place with the political cover to do it but university presidents even in the south want to be adored by the liberals.

It will be economically catastrophic to not have a season

Can you imagine any restaurant in Starkville staying open?

Hell half of Baton Rouge would close.

Luckily Knoxville should be fine as VOLS haven’t been playing football for 20 years anyway.

What? The reports are the big ten is about to cave pac ten is going to cave. This article has direct quotes from the mayor of Tuscaloosa of billions in lost revenues to Tuscaloosa Without football. It will be an economic disaster to not play

Others took a more proactive stance in preparing for this pandemic for sure

Yeah, Mizzou started scaling back everything a few years back after the SJW invasion fricked their enrollment.

Yeah, there's a lot on the line here

Even if it happens without fans, places like Oxford would still be devastated economically, right?

For frick sakes what? I'm an LSU grad and I live in Athens. The entire restaurant and bar scene would lose out substantially. Not to mention the douche bag mayor literally is trying to impose all bars and restaurants to stop serving alcohol at 10 pm.

Restaurants are open where I live and they’re fine. They shut down corridors with lots of dining and moved it out onto the street. Kinda nice way to go about it actually

Several restaurants still haven't opened...

And you must missed my comment about the mayor shutting down bars past 10 pm. How the hell will all of the bars survive? They won't.

What I find funniest and most ironic about all this is how much the public, the cities, the local business owners, the university, the coaches, etc...

.. need these kids to play football.

They need the best talent to make the best teams. It prints money for everybody involved.

Yet the same mouthbreater idiots having panic attacks at the thought of college football canceling are the same ones saying these kids are adequately compensated with a "free education".

Most hypocritical bullshite ever especially when the same people claim to be capitalist and about free enterprise.... just never in their sports because "unfair!".

Literally nothing changed in the last week and college football is about to let a little bit of political pressure torpedo the season...

If ESPN has their way they won't. Of course ESPN isn't what it was when it cancelled everything after 9/11
