No.

Today's game is too wide open. The old school option utilized in the 80s and 90s was perfect for the Nebraska program. Football is much more finesse today and Nebraska no longer has the athletes.

They need to study what Wisconsin has been doing for the last 25 years and copy them as closely as possible. Nebraska will never be a powerhouse again but they can be a really good solid program that is a level below those elite programs.

For as much shite as Pelini got, he won 9-10 games literally every year he was there, made the Big 12 CG twice and also made the Big 10 CG after the move.

Even Saban and Urban have to coach where the recruits are, and that ain’t in Lincoln.

Yep, big reason Meyer ended up in Gainesville over South Bend.

Leaving the BIg 12 was the worst decision Nebraska ever made

This. Wisconsin knows exactly what it is, and does it over and over.
Nebraska has lost their way.

They would need an unbelievable difference making QB that grew up wanting to play for them to come in and bring their offense into the 21st century.

2. Partial qualifier and non-qualifier limitation. The Big 12 limited this to 2 per school in 1996.

Nebraska took players that had no business being in College.

Rejects from California that the Pac10 wouldn't take.

Colorado did the same thing; they even had gang members from L.A. on the team.

Such a ridiculous take. LSU was not NC good for several decades. All it takes it the right guy and administration.

MSU is not NC good and that is okay. However if over a long period of time we become 8 win good ( where we are now) to 10 win good (where we would like to be) we may frick us and get a shot or two . Essentially that is where Wisconsin is. They are good and every couple years they give themselves a shot

They may never be dominant like the 90s, but they can definitely win a national title

No, partial qualifiers are gone. And the whole Nebraska junior high and high school ranks used to run the option. By the time they were in college it was engrained in them.

Nebraska can’t win a national title in the current age of college football. You can’t convince me otherwise. They don’t have the recruiting base and the “advantages” that they had in the past like other posters mentioned. At full strength I think they are capable of 9-10 win seasons but the program isn’t consistent enough to maintain that.

They seem to be trying to establish recruiting bases in Southern California, South Florida, and Arizona which I think is their best chance for getting good skill players, besides Texas (which they seem to not have much luck in lately).
