I just don’t see him leaving anytime soon outside of an NFL coaching gig. I think he realizes he needs stability. We shall see.

He’s like every other hotshot offensive guru we’ve seen in CFB. The hype machine loses their shite because he can score 59 on a mediocre, poorly coached, demoralized team.

But then he faces a well coached team that doesn’t panic and sticks to the plan and he gets his arse exposed in crunch time. Same thing happened in Oregon almost every year.

He is what he is. A good coach who will get you some top ten finishes and a lot of flashy media attention but that’s about it.

The last two teams he took over immediately improved from 3 & 4 loss teams to double digit win teams. He has legit coaching chops

Ole Miss is a better job and easier to recruit than Nebraska

Nobody cares about that, when will people realize coaching is just a job like everyone else has.

If Nebraska offers him more money he'll take it...simple as that.

People like money. Saban is not a Pro Coach...period, but they offered him a shite more than LSU. He came crawling back to CFB when Alabama offered...shite even after a few titles if Texas offered more, he would've jumped ship too.

That's the nature of the business, it's just a fricking business. These coaches don't love your school.

Kiffin to Nebraska would be interesting. Kiffin could win that division every year and get beat by tOSU in the Big10/12 championship every year, but he will have tons of press as an undefeated or one loss Nebraska every year. He isn’t doing that in Oxford. The SEC is too tough.

That being said, he may have too much swag for Nebraska.

Should we discuss his “ceiling” though?

They'll have to carry Kiffin out of Oxford in a pine box

LK is young enuff to wait it out at O.Miss till the "perfect" job for him comes open. Don't see AU, because of bama's presence, or Neb. being perfect for him. If Venable bombs at OU in the next 2 years, I can see that league being a good fit for him. No defenses or power teams.

LK knows he doesn't have the platform to bark at Saban as HC at Ole Miss, at least not in the way he would at AU.

I think Kiffin would flirt with the Auburn job, 50-50 whether he'd take it. But I think a guy like him would love to be part of major rivalries with arguably the two best coaches in the country.

It's just a good fit. Lane can leave and take the Auburn job or some other bigger job and he'd get canned after 3-4 years and never find another Ole Miss.

This. He can stay in Oxford forever because he can consistently put together good teams that will occasionally flirt with the top 10 and Ole Miss fans are good with that.

He goes anywhere where the expectation (legit or not) is championships and he’ll get run out of town. Auburn is in that category and they won’t tolerate Laneball for long.

There are rumors that he already met with Nebraska AD Trev Alberts and now he's being mentioned as a possibility for Auburn as well. Will he be back in Oxford or will he jump ship again?

jumping ship is Kiffin's M.O.

Sure he does. But he’s 1-2 against the worst LSU teams the last 25 years. And Auburn hasn’t been far behind LSU.

If/when Alabama, LSU, aTm and Auburn are all where they should be, his ceiling at Ole Miss is 9-3.

His ceiling is dependent on where he coaches, like just about every other Coach

If I’m not mistaken isn’t he originally from Nebraska and has family there? Also isn’t there some state law that puts a cap on his salary in MS? Nebraska was #2 or 3 in NIL $ this past season… if they make him one of the country’s highest paid coaches, who knows? People keeps saying that Nebraska is hard to recruit to yet guys like Pelini, Mike Riley, & Scott Frost managed to land Top 17-26 classes routinely.

I also heard there’s been communication between Nebraska & Aranda

His father, Monte, played for Nebraska and was a defensive coach under Devaney and Osborne in the 70s.

Why would his stock increase after that total beat down from yesterday being up 17-3? He's a terrible coach when it comes to making adjustments. Ask USC when he was there. It got him run off the bus. I never sipped his kool aid.

Lane should only leave for Texas, Texas A&M, Bama, LSU, Georgia, Clemson, or maybe USC.

Might as well be the highest paid coach in the country to stay at Ole Miss than take any other job.
