With Sark coming in, it seems he could gain tremendously by staying and playing in his system.

He spent much of the season listening to Texas fans tell him he had a terrible arm. Doesn't seem like Texas fans are too upset. Reminds me of the A&M/Mond situation. But Ehlinger is a litte better than Mond.

Maybe hes tired of ever playing meaningful football again like Jake Fromm was.

Ehlinger started for 4 years - that's a lot of snaps in college. He probably just wants to turn the page and move on with his life.

Mond has a better arm than Ehlinger. Sam is more consistent and better runner. I wonder if either will play meaningful snaps in the NFL, and who will be better with the direction of football now.

Texas doesn’t have enough quality skill players to run his system.... it will take a couple years for Texas to get better if they do at all....... If I’m a Texas fan I’m worried about this hire.

Probably because he sees an opportunity to be a high round pick due to a relatively weak draft class.

The potential word with qb's is everything.

All of his on field faults and lack of stats can be blamed on herman now.

I think he could be a serviceable QB in the right system. He's a competitor with great intangibles.

I still don't understand how this works.

Is it only seniors that get to have an additional year of eligibility and come back as a senior again next season if they want to?

I could see him having a career similar to Colt McCoy actually

No. This year basically doesn't count for anybody.

Ehlinger could be a serviceable backup in the NFL.

If you were a senior, you’re still a senior.

If you were a freshman, still a freshman

Texas has WRs and RBs

Ehlinger is not their answer. He recently let it be known there was no love lost w Herman, and I’m sure that was the feeling he had from Herman, too

I saw Ehlinger have some pretty bad moments under pressure, holding the ball and taking unforgivable sacks

I like the comparison to Mond. Very comparable, outside of the fact that Mond was the most protected QB in the Universe this year
