It isn't the best cast, but its far from the worst. Cooks should be a pro bowl WR. Fuller didn't have a bad year either..

I think we will be seeing a lot of MVPs without first round byes going forward due to the playoff changes.

Deandre Hopkins getting traded for pennies and replaced with Brandin Cooks is still a problem.

Hopkins is All-Pro.

Cooks is good but is such a shithead that at least three different franchises washed their hands of him including the Saints and Pats.

Yeah probably but the main idea is basically every MVP since Peterson has come from the best teams in the league.

2,000 rushing yards was always a great feat in the NFL, but now in this era where the rules make the passing game so much easier, it is even more special.

But I also find it tough to ignore Josh Allen's 45 total TDs. I do think that award should be between those two guys.

I agree
But I’m saying I think he wins/ gets voted as the AP OPOY.
2k yards rushing has been done 7 times, 6 of them have won Offensive player of the year
Also, it looks like it’s just AP Offensive player of the year, no longer AFC or NFC

Guess for AFC Offensive Player of the Year you could debate between Watson, Mahommes, Henry and Allen. Personally I'd go with Allen, 45 Total TDs passing and running. 4500 yards passing with another 400 rushing.

But your overall NFL Offensive Player of the Year is Aaron Rodgers. I know so many on this board hate him, but it has to be him.

Well the NFL OPoY sometimes doesn’t go to the NFL MVP and Rodgers will win that.

And unlike the MVP, RBs do win the award a little more often. So I think since Henry got over 2K, he could win it.

Well then I think the real debate has to be Henry vs Rodgers. 2000 rushing yards vs 51 total TDs with that gaudy 121 passer rating. Granted passer rating doesn’t quite mean what it did 25 years ago, but still. That’s second all time only to himself.

2000 rushing yards is an almost impossible feat these days with the rules.

Really not his fault tho

An elite QB should never go 4-12.

also there is at least one lost that is literally completely his fault.

He has gotten better every year. The Texans have basically the worst rush offense in football, so whatever success they have is on Watson’s shoulders.

Additionally the win/loss thing is because of a horrific defense, I imagine they should have won 2-3 more games off the top of my head. I believe they finished bottom 2 in both rush & pass defense.

He was great this year, hopefully a competent GM & Coach can put the right pieces around him. He’s a joy to watch

He was a huge deal. Considered the future of the league and great young quarterback. Compared to Michael Jordan. Popular pick to win MVP in 2018...

Then Mahomes showed up and did everything Watson did, but better. Now Watson is the only bright spot on a 4-12 team. Mahomes is a Super Bowl champ and MVP. Maybe compare playoff stats if you want to understand why one gets more hype than the other. It’s not close

He gets as much hype as a career .500 quarterback can get

Do the Cowboys make the playoffs if Dak stays healthy the whole year??????? Plus what would the Cowboys record be if they had Watson all year????

His team was 4-12 so he won't and should not get MVP consideration but he's a borderline elite QB that you can build a contender around. If they make good GM and HC hires the Texans can be contenders again pretty quick

It's because him team sucks. The guy is a pro bowler, on the right team he will have amazing success.

Yeah I think the Texans have to feel really great about him moving forward. He also didn’t really miss a beat when his 2nd and 3rd sting guys were in.
