Well, if you’re going to paint the Alabama fan base with a wide brush, then I’m going to do it in return to the OSU fan base.

Go for it. In this thread, it's the Gumps.

Looks like Bama's best(only) chance is a Louisville win and an Alabama win

You're seriously overvaluing the intellectual weight of the Alabama fanbase (lol out loud) plus that one autistic Arkansas guy that starts a thread every single day about it

In a scenario where you have 12-1 conference champs Alabama and 12-1 Texas in line for one playoff spot, the discussion ends with the Longhorns two-score win in Tuscaloosa. There is no point in arguing Alabama is theoretically the better team because they beat LSU,
Ole Miss and UGa - because the teams actually played on the field.

If you have a scenario where you have Alabama, Texas and a third team Oregon all as 12-1 conference champs in line for two playoff spots, then résumé’s do matter. In a three-team comparison Alabama’s resume is arguably the best, and so they could “earn” the first of two spots, leaving the Oregon and Texas to the final spot.

Tl/dr - 13-0 UW, Mich, FSU and 12-1 Texas/Bama, Bama is deservedly out.

But if the two teams played one another, you can forget all that stuff.

I agree. I think most rational Bama fans would as well because Lord knows we would throw a gasket if the shoe was on the other foot. However, you can expect most of our fanbase to cry a river if this plays out and I fully expect Saban to throw a tantrum if we get left out, which is justifiable given the work of art he has transformed this team into from that loss. However, at the end of the day the Whorns did beat us at our own place and you can't sugarcoat it.

that win over Bama at their place by multiple scores should be the deciding factor. it should matter. period.

A normal person thinks this way, but have you had much interaction with Alabama fans? This is a group that claims a Natty from a season they went 8-2 and finished 3rd in the SEC.

I dunno beating the number 1 team in the conference championship is a solid argument to be in. I think fsu having a hurt qb makes it easy to make the case for both bama and UT to get in if both win

The winner of Bama/UGA is in.

If anyone is out, it will be the loser.

The SEC Champion will not be left out.

Washington, TCUN, Florida State, and Texas all win.

Who does Bama replace?

I see your point. But, given that it would be a Bama team that just took down the 2-time Champ with like long streak….and SEC, the Kings of CFB.

Doesn’t matter…UGA will win.

I’m a Bama fan and I don’t see a word of untruth in this post. Sept. 9 counted. Is what it is.

Probably, but if Bama does win, they'll need some help.

None of that should matter, it’s for the 2023 season. UGA is #1 they also have a SOS of 49

Playing a tougher schedule matters, there is ZERO REASON that Oregon or Wash. is ahead of either Bama or Texas tbh, they play in a crap conference. TCU proved last year the Big 12 is crap. The reason you judge teams via a WHOLE SEASON and not one game is because teams like Bana who get new OC and DC a lot more than everyone else, usually gel and get better over the course of the year. Bama with 2 loses last year should have been in over Ohio St. or TCU, a 1 point OT loss to LSI at LSU and a Tenn. shaft job away by crooked refs. Vi OSU getting drubbed at home by 30 points.

You see, if you would just tell the damned truth, and God put you on a truth meter you would say Bama and UGA are top 4. But of course you are just jealous, and it does something to you corndogs. Settle down son.

Who gives a crap. Everyone know Bama and UGA are better than FSU, Wash. Org and Texas, even you know it.

Psssttt, its OK.

The committee has never once ever taken a team with more losses over a conference champion with less losses

They’ve never been faced with the choice when said undefeated conference champion was from the weakest P5 conference and said 1 loss team was from the strongest.

Every single poster on this board crying about Alabama getting in would pick Alabama over FSU with a gun to their head. Every fricking one of you. So gripe all you want, but in your gut you’ll know it was the right call. Just like you knew it was the right call in 2011

Hypothetically of course.

Your logic would lead to not even having a season. We can look at the rosters of Bama and Georgia and Ohio State and just set a playoffs that way every year.

There’s still football that has to be played. Bama lost a game by multiple scores at home, looked like shite in several others against bad teams. Sorry the “eye” test isn’t in your favor this year.
