because they arent punishing teams for losing conference ship because not everyone has to play in one

Bc Clemson was #17 and SMU #8. Clemson aint jumping 9 spots 5/the final week

Champion games are just for entry. Regular season sets the rankings.

Can SMU claim being "co champs"(same conference record) of the ACC and of course Clemson reps the 1st place spot for playoff implications being they won the title game.

11 and 12 are their seeds not their ranking. They were separated by like 9 spots last night. So they would have had to jump Clemson over a bunch of other teams to put them ahead of SMU, or drop SMU a ton to put them behind Clemson.

Clemson being seeded higher would require them jumping a South Carolina team with the same number of losses that just beat them

Because Clemson isn’t ranked 12th, they are ranked 16th, they just got defaulted to 12th because that is where the 5th highest ranked conference champion gets slotted.

They had to be. 5th conference champ ranked outside top 12 has to be 12. It’s kind of stupid.
