I don't hate LeBron, but I wasn't a fan of "the decision". I do despise Kobe, however.

Kobe got plenty of hate

Magic and Jordan weren't in a world of twitter and message boards. Hard to compare.

Lebron is a target because he is high profile. That's not to say the hate isn't justified. There's plenty of things to latch on to:

-the decision television program
-running to Bosh and Wade to get a title
-the flopping
-the whining
-he seems like a real dummy
-throws teammates under the bus

But my dislike is probably based on my age, as I don't like how he went out & recruited Wade & Bosh in order to win a championship.
What does age have to do with understanding a guy wanting to do what's best for him to win titles?

Old school players went out & won it on their own, with good teammates
So why should LEbron be tasked with playing his entire career without good teammates?

I'm saying neither of them got anything close to what Lebron gets.

I think they would have if social media would have been the same as it is now, back when they were at their peak.

One reason is because he got a tattoo when he was probably 16 or 17 that he has been quoted as saying something to the effect of he regrets and it was foolish, but 30 and 40 someting year old dudes still can't get over this tat a 17 year old got around 10 years ago.

In his defense, who wants bad attention?

Why is Lebron such a target?

The short answer is because he hasn't shut the critics up with wins.

The long answer is that LeBron's success failure stands for so many things. Not only is there the GOAT argument, but fans of teams in small markets, over half the league, desperately want to see the Spurs model beat the Big 3 model. And on top of all of those external issues LeBron has become a proxy argument for, there's the fact that he's under achieving. With the physical tools he has we should not be debating whether or not he's the new GOAT, we should be marveling at his greatness like we did with Jordan.

His attention whoring (chalk toss cough cough) and the Decision. Especially the Decision. Most ridiculous exercise in vanity I've ever seen. His sense of self-importance was just laughable and I still can't believe he did that. Nevermind the palpable vapidity of the whole affair.

He has come a long way, though. He's generally a good role model for kids, never gets in any trouble and avoids outside drama, and his work ethic and will to improve are admirable.

I can understand people disliking the first 4 on your list, but the guy seems like one of the smarter athletes in sports today and a great teammate.

What was that incident in Vegas when he was trying to outdo someone in the club doing the dougie or something? Then walking around pretending to shoot jump shots? That was pretty douchy.

I for one hate the flopping and whining.

Especially from probably the most physically gifted player in the history of basketball.

ding ding ding. I like watching his athleticism minus the tantrums where it looks like someone shot his mother.

I loved the chalk toss ....although the decision, as I mentioned, I wasn't a fan of.

Can't remember Jordan getting any of this and he was the biggest a-hole of all.
Jordan's assholery, rightly or wrongly, was less covered due to a different media age. Also, the media, maybe accurately, would blame his a-hole tendencies on his uber competitive drive, thus diminishing it as a negative trait.

Jordan was also less self conscious and didn't come off as trying as hard as Kobe and Lebron and Dwight Howard do.

Lebron wasn't behind The Decision. If you are upset with that, be upset with ESPN, not Lebron.

What? I'm not saying the dude is a genius or anything, but he seems like a pretty sharp guy for someone who probably stopped giving a frick about school around age 15 or 16.

I'll say this for Kobe as well.

The Decision was a terrible move but it was something his sponsors told him to do. Hell, Jordan's PR team made a song called "Be like Mike." Imagine if Lebron came out with a song

Not saying I disagree with any of this, because these can be valid points, but who are some great players that you do like? I would assume you dont like Jordan or Kobe either, but you would like players like Durant/Shaq

I do like players like Durant, David Robinson, Tim Duncan. I like players who just handle their business without the dramatics.

I'm not saying that Lebron is not a great player he is, I just have my own reasons for not being a fan of the guy. Just because i'm not a fan, doesn't mean i'm a hater.

Also, never was a Kobe fan, and was not a Jordan fan, because at the time, if you were a fan of any other team besides the bulls, you hated Jordan for destroying your team.

Wan't that a song from Gatorade for a commercial? I don't think that came from Jordan's PR camp.

I blame ESPN, but he should've known what a bad idea that was and that it would've been wise to refuse. You know he loves that shite
