Why do some football players sport two mouthpieces on their facemasks these days?

And then…many times won’t have either one in their mouth during the play?

Same reason bright green and yellow mouth guards are a thing.

green apple and cherry, you know like Jolly Ranchers.

To call attention to themselves. And then monkey see, monkey do, so it spreads.

So they can talk out of both sides of their mouth?

The same reason you would leave a pick in your hair or bring an air horn to a graduation

Are they flavored?

2 different NIL sponsors?

I noticed this year players barely even wear their mouthpieces anymore. They spend the whole game dangling on the facemask unused.

They’ve been not putting them in their mouthes for several years now. But having two of them on the facemask, both dangling, just seems fricking stupid.

Hope NFL insurance refuses to cover any dental surgeries if they don't wear their mouth pieces.

It adds +5 rizz for each mouthpiece.

They don't even use the mouthpieces now. I'm curious if there's been a difference in injuries to the mouth / teeth / jaw or if injury rates are the same.

It’s mindblowingly stupid
Makes zero sense sense and doesn’t look cool at all

Same reason they don’t take the tags off their fitted hats. Attention.

As a player, especially a receiver, that would drive me friggin’ crazy. Yet, it’s receivers that I see sporting that ridiculousness the most.

Saw a guy with 3 few weels ago in a college game. Can't remember what team.

Mouthpieces help prevent concussions.
I slipped pushing a wheelbarrow and my chin hit the wheelbarrow firmly. I went to dentist because it loosened teeth and I also had a concussion… not sure why they don’t just stick the damn mouthpiece in.
