Why do some football players sport two mouthpieces on their facemasks these days?

Same reason bright green and yellow mouth guards are a thing.

To call attention to themselves. And then monkey see, monkey do, so it spreads.

The same reason you would leave a pick in your hair or bring an air horn to a graduation

Hope NFL insurance refuses to cover any dental surgeries if they don't wear their mouth pieces.

They don't even use the mouthpieces now. I'm curious if there's been a difference in injuries to the mouth / teeth / jaw or if injury rates are the same.

As a player, especially a receiver, that would drive me friggin’ crazy. Yet, it’s receivers that I see sporting that ridiculousness the most.

Mouthpieces help prevent concussions.

I slipped pushing a wheelbarrow and my chin hit the wheelbarrow firmly. I went to dentist because it loosened teeth and I also had a concussion… not sure why they don’t just stick the damn mouthpiece in.
