You seriously don't think race has anything to do with it? People on this board celebrate Manziel and hate Cam. I don't think it's entirely race fueled but I do think that's part of it.

Who on this board celebrates Johnny Football? Other than A&M and maybe some other SEC fans? Cam is hated on here because he's arrogant (and the Auburn/Panther trolls add fuel to that fire). Has nothing to do with race.

It's because we've been told for decades that the "right way" to play the game is to score and hand the ball to the official. That's what we've been told that winners do. Showboating is "bad" and it's what losers do. That's what we've been told.
Now we see a young, confident brash man who celebrates all the time, and yet, he's beating everyone. It really fricks with people to their core to learn that a player can act the way Cam acts and still win. It's not unlike Miami football in the late 80s. There's a segment of the population that wants to continue to believe in their ideals, and hates to see those ideals come crashing down.

NO doubt he a great player. However, he is pompous most of the time and disrespectful to the game some of the time. He was hooping, hollering, dancing, and celebrating on the sidelines with 14 minutes left in the 4th quarter. I can't think of one other QB, nor too many players that would do that. That turns a lot of people off
