And yet Texas won by 10 on the road - not a fluke. Texas should be ahead.

whole season still matters. You get penalized for your QB not being ready after spring and summer camp.

In that case rank OU above Texas.

Don't have the same record.

What you can’t ignore is that 13 games were played, not just one.

And one of those games was Texas beating Bama head to head.

Hopefully, UGA just shuts this ridiculous talk down. But we’ve seen the power of SEC officials and the REC rear it’s ugly head before.

Georgia's weird inability to stop the perimeter run game would be a bigger factor than any ref conspiracy garbage. Alabama seems to have the perfect pieces to attack Georgia's one real weakness on defense.

“So OU should be ranked ahead of Texas?”

No, because OU has two losses.

You are what your record says you are.

I don’t understand how people place the Big 12 on equal footing with the SEC and argue that the outcome of one game is how you should rank teams.

They dont place them on equal footing.

But when two teams get together for a game, and one wins, the winner gets an advantage. To the victor go the spoils.

Its been this way since the beginning of time.

Playing on the field is the sport. The win loss and the head to head matter because football is a sport.

This isnt a Vegas power ranking.

Of course it matters. Texas got a W, Bama got a L, and Texas got a high quality win on its resume.

That’s 7.6% of the resume. Now what does the other 92.4% of the resume look like? Let me guess, the other 92.4% should be ignored?

Why did LSU go the SECCG in 2022 instead of Alabama? Wasn’t Alabama’s resume better? They lost to Tenn in the road by 3. LSU lost at home to Tenn by 27. Bama beat Texas A&M LSU lost to them by 15. Bama was 10-2 LSU 9-3, looks like Bama had a better resume?

I can agree that Bama would have a better resume just as far as top 15 wins go. However, and I don't know how you can just discount a head-to-head game being played between the 2 teams in question. You keep mentioning Texas and Oklahoma as a comparison that, due to Oklahoma winning the head-to-head, they should be ranked ahead of Texas. I will try and make this point as clear as possible. If Oklahoma and Texas had the same record, I would certainly agree with you that Oklahoma SHOULD be ranked higher than Texas. However, Oklahoma has 2 losses, while Texas only has 1. Due to this, Texas is rightfully ranked ahead of Oklahoma. I would say, if I were on the committee deciding the 4 teams, If there were 2 teams I was deciding between, meaning #4 and #5 ranked teams, here is what I would look at:
1. Overall record.
2. HEAD-2-HEAD.
3. SOS
If any of those teams actually played each other, as long as the record was the same and they had both played similarly tough schedules, the head-to-head would be the deciding factor for me, and I think alot of other people.
So lets just compare the 2 teams for the factors that I would look at:
1. Overall record
Bama: 11-1
Texas: 11-1
2. Strength of Schedule (Per teamrankings.com)
Bama: 4th
Texas: 5th
3. Head-to-head
Bama: lost 24-34
Texas: won 34-24

In games played against teams that are going to a bowl game, which would be what most consider a "good team"
Bama: about to play their 10th game against bowl-eligible teams.
Texas: about to play their 9th game against bowl-eligible teams.
So just to recap, Bama has played 1 more bowl-eligible team that Texas and is ranked 1 spot ahead of them with strength of schedule. So, in your opinion, this should put Bama in over Texas regardless of the fact that Texas actually proved they were better than Bama on the actual field of play?

Explain to us what’s a marginal difference and a significant one when talking about top 25 wins.

The marginal difference is in overall SOS not just top 25 wins you are just cherry picking. You acting like any team not in the top 25 is the same. It’s the problem of all or nothing thinking vs actually looking deeper into the teams.

For example: Tennessee and KSU are both 8-4 UT is ranked 23 in the coaches poll and unranked in the AP. Kansas St is now unranked in both, they were 20 last week in the coaches but fell out after a loss. In the AP Tenn is the first in “others receiving votes” and KSU is 3rd, or 26 and 28 if you will. Last week KSU was 19 and Tenn was 25. They do have 1 common opponent Missouri. KSU lost to Mizzo by 3 (Mizzo won on a 61 yd FG on last play) Tennessee lost to Mizzo by 29. Why is Tenn ranked but not KSU? Resume? Does merely playing better teams make you better? All of KSU losses are by 1 score, 3 ranked teams (Texas, Mizzo in top 10 plus Ok St) and 7-5 Iowa St. Tenn lost to unranked Fla by 13, Bama by 14 and UGA and Mizzo by 28 and 29.

Tell me other than just conference affiliation what makes Tennessee better than KSU? Thats what marginal difference means.

Bama barely beating a shitty Auburn is basically a loss.

So, Bama is actually a 2 loss team this year.
