Geography? It’s not like it’s the national championship game.

To be fair Miami-Atlanta-Miami is a tall task for a fanbase on the west coast

Indiana has the largest alumni base in the US, it’s their first time and they are much closer to Atlanta

Oregon has a tiny fan base. The vast majority of Oregon grads are not sports fans.

It really is crazy they’ve been able to be relevant so long. Only 20k undergrads at a school close to really nowhere where football matters. Credit to them

lol. Eugene/Springfield has close to 400,000 people and it’s like 2-3 hours from a major US city.

Geography isn’t the issue. It’s a 5 hour direct flight from PDX to ATL. You can’t afford to do this making minimum wage pumping gas.

There were tons of Washington fans in New Orleans a couple of years ago for the semifinal. Working for Microsoft, Amazon, or Boeing pays better than pumping gas.

Lucky for Oregon, seems like the Indiana fans don't know to stay quiet when their offense is on the field.

not really when your biggest supporter/booster created the most iconic logo in sports and you border Cali.

They went to Miami last week and now Atlanta.
It’s a pain getting here from Oregon and expensive.

Were you trying to prove him wrong with this? Oregon HS football is also fricking horrible

This game should have been in Phoenix and last night should have been in Atlanta

Bro, have you ever been to a game at Autzen Stadium? Those fans are nuts. Along with UW, the best gameday atmosphere on the west coast.

For a fan base that gets touted as one the best this is embarrassing. Their stadium only seats 54,000. Tonight proves they are a weak fanbase.

Imagine LSU in the semi getting outmatched like this.. It simply wouldn’t happen, because we are an actually great fanbase.

His post said it was crazy they’ve been able to stay relevant, acting like it’s some far flung outpost. 20k enrollment is meaningless. The school is extremely well funded and it’s a state where most of their fans don’t go to school there.

Nothing crazy about how they’ve kept it going. You can recruit nationally when you have Nike as your biggest donor and build better facilities than anyone, and now they can match anyone’s payroll.

Don’t disagree on the locations though.

Major US City? Portland?

They ride bikes naked and do heroin there.

His post was spot on. It’s a tiny arse hippy track school that happens to be backed by Phil Knight and one of the greatest brands on earth.

20k undergrads right now, even after all the recent hype and football success.

Eugene is kind of bizarre. Spent time there to and from Bandon Dunes. Doesn’t even have a direct flight from Dallas.
