Jordan
Rice
Bonds
Gretzky
Thats the big 4 sports and i had the privilege of watching them all. What a time to be alive as a growing, sports fueled young lad. It gets said all the time in the era, Jordan/Lebron debates, but you really had to witness the greatness to appreciate it.
Gretzky is low key maybe the most dominant goat of all time. Dude was putting up video game numbers before video games. He was a marvel. As great as Lemeiux was he was still a distant 2nd.

Bonds

Might be the greatest hitter ever, but not the GOAT. That title belongs to Hank..

If Mario hadn't had the Hodgkin's along w/his bad back, he would have pushed Gretzky for greatest ever. He was so skilled.

You can argue that babe Ruth wasn't the best player on his team. Ruth was a great hitter, but all around Lou Gehrig was the better player.

I think Gretzky is the one with most approval among the sport’s fans.

Gretzky's statistical dominance in hockey is so great there's absolutely no question he is the greatest hockey player in history.

ETA: Gretzky's Statistical Dominance

Just one example: Gretzky is the all time leading goal scorer in NHL history. If you removed all of his goals, he'd still have more points than any player in history. That is insane.

I think football is too much of a team game to have a single GOAT

Jerry Rice
Walter Payton
Tom Brady
Lawrence Taylor
Reggie White
Probably some offensive lineman that is regarded as the GOAT O-Lineman

The skill sets/definitions of success for each play for each position are too greatly varied for a single name in my opinion.
