I worked at the closest Catholic grammar school to Shaw all through the 1990s. I am FB friends with more than a few of my former students, and they are excited as can be about Coach Tierney returning. It definitely has alumni and AOL alumnae buzzing.

My son said Coach Trey, and if not, they are hiding something.

Everyone’s been beating around the bush.. what happened to hank at Shaw?
Posted on 1/20/22 at 7:23 pm to Mr. Hangover
He got sanctioned for running a summer camp and paying his players for working. What he was doing was honorable in my opinion. He had players that would have been caught up in all kinds of mischief if he hadn't kept them busy. Shaw's new administration had it out for Hank, and used it as a gotcha to oust him.
At least that's the story I've been told.

Partially, the new principal wanted the money going to school. It was also used to pay asst coaches(more than went to players-who certainly worked and earned it).
THe new principal wanted him gone.

LOL
I think it is a no brainer to hire him. He has all the tools to be an outstanding head coach and program "man"
and that is what every coach I am talking to says(except a couple that want the job

I hope they do the smart thing. I wonder what they are waiting for? One thing I am scared of is that stupid fricking desegregation bullshite. That stupid woke superintendent might try to force a minority hire onto the whitest school in the parish for political reasons.

I'm not so sure about that, I've also heard a former college coach may be interested.
Ponchatoula is the new West Monroe, but without all the whining about losing. This is the premiere opening in the state currently, the other big names should be leaking soon.

But I heard on Sportsline that y’all wouldn’t be back to the Dome for 70 years…
IMO I think it will be 5 or 10

Probably because he would have to stop playing so much EFT

I wish, but I can't see that happening. Consistent talent at that level is just not in this community.

Except for me, but even that's been the more "tinfoil hat-wearing conspiracy theorist" side of me than anything genuine. And I have no complaints about the state title game itself at all.

A month ago at the beginning of this topic you called our run to the dome a "dream run." What made you change your mind in the past month? Unless your definition of a dream run is different than mine. My definition of a dream run is once a generation, and a generation is certainly longer than 5-10 years.
