Why would you take Hendo? He's lost 2 straight and has become so one dimensional that avoiding his right hand virtually guarantees you a victory.
If Henderson would mix up his attack then he'd have a chance, but lately he's just been winging that right hand every opportunity he has.

Bones can become #1. Time will tell

It's the same problem Evens has. He either strikes or he wrestles. He can't seem to do both in a fight

Maybe I just like Hendo too much.
Still, his two losses were decisions. He couldn't figure out Machida's karate style and Evans is a great fighter with the same primary strengths as Hendo.
Maybe Hendo is getting to old, but he is a bad matchup style wise for Silva, and I think if he fights smart and patient and forgets about putting down the hammer with strikes, he wins.

Fedor was avoiding real competition for a really long time and got beat badly at the end a few times. He might have been the best some during that run he was avoiding everyone.

Any strong wrestler would give Silva problems, however, one thing continues to hold true..... Silva still beats them

the UFC HW division was pretty fricking dogshit when fedor was running shite in pride

Yeah, it has been pretty poor for a long time until the emmergence of Cain, Dos Santos, and the collapse of strikeforce. Now it is pretty good but it is still not great with enough depth. It will be pretty soon though I think.

yep and fedor beat him in about a minute.
and fedor also knocked arlovski out could.
during his prime no question he was the man. no doubt about it.

Have you never looked at his fights from Dec 2004 all the way until he lost to Werdum? The best fighter in that stretch was probably a middle weight Matt L. He avoided going to the UFC. Never fought Randy or Barnett. Never went to UFC and fought in the Cage. Before that point I think there was no question the guy was the best in the business. But that period was actually much shorter then the period where he avoided real competition. And say he fought former UFC champs all you want. Every one of those guys had been run out of the UFC by the time he fought them. In all honesty the guy is on 36ish maybe 37 now? He started losing 3 years ago and hasn't beaten a real name since Big Nog in 2004. I just don't see how he can be over Silva.

This is only true of Strong Wrestlers with great take downs. Other wise they don't get to use it.

I have to put Anderson #1. He has faced every challenge you can think of stylistically and hasn't just won but made his opponents look terrible. He comes into the UFC and makes their headline champion at MW in Rich Franklin look like a scrub twice. Then after he cleans out the MW division he goes up in weight and makes a former champion at lhw look like an idiot in Forrest Griffin.
With Anderson Silva he can make it look like the other guy doesn't even belong in the cage with him. That's just how much more talented he is than the rest of the fighters in his range.
Fedor and Sakuraba are my favorite fighters ever, but Fedor would get into wars and not blow by his competition like Silva has. Fedor is one of the greatest but I can't call him the greatest.
Who has Anderson beaten that was as good as Nogueira?

Both had been run out of the UFC when he fought them and AA was winning when his dumb arse got to aggressive and tried that crazy move that got him leveled.

I agree with this, and I don't want to sound like I don't. I just think Fedor let his management protect what they had way too much. For a guy that was supposed to be the best in the world they had him fighting way to many freakshow bull shite fights.

Are you retarded? The only heavyweight in the UFC worth a damn was Randy Couture.

when he beat sylvia's arse, it wasn't that far removed from sylvia being the UFC HW champ

Sylvia had lost 2 out of 3 in the UFC. His next fight after Fedor he lost to Ray fricking Mercer in 9 seconds. Pretty sure it is safe to say he had lost his drive.
