??

and if it's someone else....who and why?

-fedor and anderson both have 4 losses.....both have 1 bullshite DQ/NC

-pride vs. ufc (who faced the better competition?)

-fedor got dominated towards the end of his career (past his prime), yet he was still younger than Anderson (who is still dominating today at 38 against the very best in the world)

-Anderson moved up a weight class to LHW, but the best fighters he has faced were all smaller than him. Everyone Fedor faced was larger than him.

I still put it at Fedor #1 & Anderson #2.....but that might change shortly. Who is #3? Jon Jones? Dan Henderson? Muhammad Ali?

*only joking about the Ali part*

I know you're only trolling about the Wanderlei part.....so I won't even question you on that.

interesting putting Fedor at #1. I thought you hated Pride guys.....maybe that was the devil dog gator??

eta: who is your top5?

Bones definitely on a good path to #1 eventually.

I'd take Anderson as my #1 now.

Top 5 would be:

1.Fedor
2.Wandy/Anderson
4.Nogueira
5.Couture... yes controversial but look at the level of competition he beat

title defenses
Anderson: 10 UFC
Fedor: 3 Pride

top 10 wins ( LINK)
Anderson: 16
Fedor: 12

Seems pretty obvious. Also, one guy avoided the UFC twice after Pride folded and had his arse handed to him in Strikeforce. Hint - it wasn't Anderson.

Wandy's beaten the best competition. What you do past your prime really doesn't matter to me.

I'd think St Pierre has to receive consideration at this point

He certainly should. 8 UFC title defenses and 16 top 10 wins. Also (brutally) avenged both of his losses.

I'm only playing devil's advocate here. but who has Anderson beaten other than Hendo, Vitor, and Rich? Who has Fedor beaten?

"BS stat."
And Fedor was only in one of those tournaments.

Edit: Funny you bring up Hendo. How'd he do against Fedor?

Daiju Takase? You mean that fight in an org controlled by the Yakuza with no regulation and drug testing?

Obviously not a Wrestling or Humping thread..no GSP mentioned yet. But, hard to believe he doesn't make some folk's Top 5 though.

GSP probably wouldn't even make my Top 40 most exciting UFC fighters of alltime, but in terms of GOAT, dominating, title defenses, W-L, longevity, etc..he's up there somewhere.

I know many will say that he hasn't done it long enough to be the greatest, but I don't think the sport has ever had an athlete the equal of Jones.
