That's exactly what I'm saying. In that light, he didn't do enough

In a huge jermaine Taylor fan actually sold him a computer when I was in high school. Hopkins Taylor one I threw the biggest house pArty of my life and we went crazy when he won. But he didn't win that shite. Hopkins was the better boxer landed more clean shots and Taylor was gassed.

But Taylor was boxing new pre determined superstar and Hopkins didn't do enough. I learned that day the politics of boxing

If u go into someone home country in front of 55 thousand people and her undefeated put his arse on the ground or control the fight. Manny did neither he for sure did not control the fight

The score ain't even that out there

If u donor have Manny up six one and don't give Manny ten to eight when there was no knockout that is anyone's fight

I didn't see fits

Manny adjusted well enough to win on technical

That happens all the time they just never really get it on camera. If the ref doesn't like something he's seeing, he'll go to the corner between rounds and tell them.

The ref walking to the corner and saying he wanted to end the fight honestly looked staged. Like there was no reason for him to do that at all. Honestly a little fishy.

Especially when Horn won the next 3 rounds.

I couldn't believe the dude said he would call it. Just total nonsense honestly.

Funny thing is 2 of the judges gave Manny rounds 10 and one gave him 11. These judges don't know what they're doing

He looked way better than Horn. Landed twice as many punches, Horn landed at a 15% clip.

Well then I have to change my stance somewhat. That is fricking garbage

The 11th can be argued, the 12th not.

But the 10th? that was won by Horn, and that's why the 10-8 almost narrative of the 9th is bullshite

Teddy gave the first round to him

Manny definitely won the next two

I had it that way just watching with no commentary early on

If this fight was in New Orleans instead of Brisbane, in the late 70's when boxing was big here, and it was somebody like Sugar Ray Leonard (USA USA), vs some older Mexican champ like Alexis Arguello, you SURE Arguello gets all those early rounds?
Cuz I'm not.

Again, look at it in a different light- Horn was 16-0-1, HE'S the big draw that brought 50+ thousand folks in, and he's facing a NAME, a guy who, the caption read, was 5-3 in his last 8 fights.

Manny wasn't the favorite here, he had to win in dominant fashion, or he wouldn't get the decision.

We just didn't understand that, since we don't give boxing any love anymore, and we knew Paccquio's name.
But everything about this fight was laid out to coronate Horn as champ.
And he pushed Manny around, didn't get knocked out, landed a couple shots, and generally made a good accounting of himself.

There are some old-timers that would say this wasn't as bad as the Sugar Ray- Marvin Hagler fight. History books tell you Sugar won. Giddy announcers at the time said Leonard showed the heart of a champion.
Hagler was so stunned and disgusted by the decision that he left the country, and rarely talked about boxing afterwards.

I hope you are trolling b/c this is an incredibly stupid question considering WvK aired on PPV while the this was on ESPN.

Horn was the aggressor, he dictated pace of fight, Manny looked like Floyd running from Horn. He should have put him away in the 9th round and didn't, he's old it's time to retire Manny lost this fight because he is not what he used to be and that's ok it happens as you age. Horn sounded like an idiot though calling out Mayweather

The irony is the 111 117 is the one I agree with most.

I gave horn about half the first six but any of those six could have went either way. Horn imho won the last two Manny clearly won the third and ninth

No two point round bs

I really enjoyed the fight. Teddy Atlas was spot on after the fight. The fight was great. The decision was awful. Pacquio was robbed. I wish ESPN could put on more Saturday night fights.

Yes Hagler was stunned etc. But that decision was correct- Sugar Ray won that fight.
